Nice small gallery

It is a very small gallery, next to central bus station. Different types of painting and sculptures. Good place to go during raining day, senior is free.

A first rate small gallery for an island famous for artistic endeavour. The permanent collection not only contains some European gems but also quite wonderful works by Bermuda artists and those who made Bermuda their artistic summer home over many years. The regular special exhibitions are always of high quality - curated well and devoted to interesting themes. One of... More

I really like the permanent collection the gallery. It is a mix of Bermudian artists and other artists who have depicted Bermuda. The other collection was full of modern art, and I'm not sure why those items were selected for the Bermudian Gallery- many of the artists were from other countries and not making art about Bermuda. Still worth a... More

Thank you- we are glad to know to that you had a positive experience in The Ondaatje Wing, which is dedicated to the Bermuda Collection and telling the story of the development of the visual arts on Island. The "modern art" that you refer to is the Bermuda Biennial, a contemporary art exhibition series that started in 1994. This series... More

There was no one else in this art gallery when we visited. It is small, containing what I would describe as "modern" art by local artists. Since modern art is not my thing, I was not impressed with the pieces displayed. This museum is just next door to the bus terminal.

I caught the biennial art exhibit here. It was outrageous! It reminded me of the Venizia Biennale, the works were that good! I was so unexpectedly delighted. It's small, but that means only the choicest art is displayed. There was another little museum in the same building that featured kids' art work created from debris found in the ocean and... More

If you expect to see world famous art pieces or quantity of art that you may see in major museums, you will be disappointed. Still, if your objective is to learn a bit more about local art scene and see some of local pieces, it will be a quite enjoyable visit.

I'd heard great things about the Bermuda National Gallery but I was fairly disappointed with the exhibition. When we visited they had moved all of the artwork out and there was a 'modern art' exhibition instead. I'm no art critic but broken stuff on the floor, computers with error messages, interactive pieces that have malfunctioned just don't do anything for... More

This welcomed us as we toured the Hamilton area. The main exhibit was interesting and gallery itself showed local artwork and photos.
