I felt that the railway trail was tired and unloved - it could be a great tourist attraction but needs a facelift to make it more attractive. It is a wonderful idea but really needs to be cleaned up. There are uneven surfaces, large stones and overgrown sections all hampering the cyclist or walker. Disappointing.

The rails-to-trails path is a must-do in Bermuda. The history of the railway in Bermuda was quite short (during the 20th Century) and luckily for the rest of us, the government bought the railroad and converted it to a railway that spans Bermuda. The scenery of the trail changes depending on where you are in Bermuda which keeps it interesting... More

The Railway Trail sounded like it would be a great way to see the island, unfortunately it wasn't very scenic in most places. For portions of it I felt like I was walking down an alley. Other times the trail abruptly ends and you're at a busy intersection wondering which way to go. They definitely need better signage if they're... More

In 2015, volunteers fixed up the most scenic 3-mile stretch of Bermuda's main walking trail (called the "Railway Trail" because it used to have a railroad tracks on it) from Coney Island (near the Swizzle Inn) to Shelly Bay. Since the upgrade, I would rate this walk as one of Bermuda's tourist highlights. Bring a camera, as you will be... More

You'll need to research this trail before you arrive--not many specifics were available for the self-guided tourist and there were precious few signs along the way, but we figured out the stretch we wanted to explore from studying maps and seeing where the trail neared the shore. Much of it goes through the jungle/woods, but there were a couple of... More

If you're active, one issue you might encounter in Bermuda is a complete dearth of sidewalks on which to safely run. Instead you'll find yourself running against traffic on narrow, winding roads that have the ocean on on side and a rocky cliff on the other. The Railway Trail is a great way to escape this potential death trap and... More

This tour has it all. Water, biking, hiking and history. Loved it all. Brad and Trevor were amazing tour guides. Full of knowledge. Friendly and safety oriented. This was the highlight of our time in Bermuda.

Not well promoted, the trail has an interesting history which is well explained on signs at the St. George end of the trail, but given some of the narrow sidewalks in the village itself, the trail provides a good opportunity to see another aspect of the island while enjoying a fascinating walk.

A hidden treasure in Bermuda! This used to be an old railway track and is now a great sand/rock trail which stretches 21 miles along the island. Much of the trail is shaded with trees and has off shoots like a trail to Gibbs Lighthouse. The views are spectacular. In some places it is becoming overgrown but still worth the... More
