Seroe Colorado is at the very northeast end of Aruba and very rural. With a regular car, you can drive off-road and head toward the water. There's so much space that you can have acres to yourself.

The original lighthouse is long gone although the foundation is there. This lighthouse is actually a steel pole with a bulb on top of it. Serves the purpose for ships at see but as lighthouse go ... this one is a bust. There are some good vistas over the sea but mostly this is a baron, arid, volcanic rock and cacti covered part of the island. Five minutes is all you'll need.

Just to echo some of the other reviews; this is not the California Lighthouse on the north shore. There are no tour buses stopping here and this isn’t really a ‘been there’ type of location. Colorado Point is on the southern point of the island and being here almost makes you feel like you’re on another planet. The terrain is rough and desolate and well worth the trek. Just watching the waves batter the coast make up for the drive. If I ever make it back to Aruba, I’ll rent a jeep and head right back to watch the waves some more. If you like getting out on your own and off the resort for an excursion then add this place to your list!

Really beautiful site. Rough road to get to it but once you reach it it is well worth seeing. I can see why they add it to the tour

The drive to the south "lighthouse" is about a 90 min drive from the hotel area on the northwest side of the island, but the views of the surf are gorgeous. The walk from the parking area to the best views is about 1/4 mile down a dirt road. The "lighthouse" at the South end is small compared to the lighthouse on the Northside! It's more of a light box.

Having just been to the Colorado Lighthouse location, there are lots of incorrect reviews on here by people who have gotten the names confused. There are many reviews here for the California Lighthouse, not the Colorado. Tour buses would not be likely to go up this one vehicle width road climb. The view is phenomenal. No original Lighthouse exists although there’s a crumbling base. There is a modern light that looks more like a large version of those things you use in your yard to kill mosquitoes. Would I visit it again? Absolutely, just for the view. Take a Jeep? Yup, although there were a couple of cars that made the climb too. Numerous Arubans knew nothing about the place and had never been.

While staying in the local colony of Seroe Colorado recently for a week my, sister, and brother-in-law and I got up every morning before sunrise, drove up to this point, parked and then walked all the way out to the water's edge to watch the brightening of the day. The terrain is bizarre, being volcanic and dessert-like; it seemed that we were on the surface of Mars; difficult, though just careful walking was required most of the time, and you can meander down over the small cliffs easily to get to the edge - which are usually 40-50 feet above the rocks and surf. But it is totally worth it, as there is a natural bridge of rock with a pool behind it and waves come crashing up and through the whole thing relentlessly. And then the sun comes up. Absolutely magnificent and one of the highlights of our week there.

Went to this lighthouse by taking a windy two way narrow road before going to baby Beach. It was a quaint small one but had a really nice view of the rugged coast.
