I stopped by this location while enroute to a beach in the distance. This was an interesting reference point on our route. As a military veteran, I stopped to take a moment of silent reflection with my spouse here to pay homage.

This is a great photo op while driving to beautiful Baby beach. Just by the road is a huge red anchor in front of the sea, dedicated to all seamen.
If you're lucky in vicinity you'll find wild donkeys roaming around which just made our experience more joyful.

On our tour of Aruba, we stopped to photograph this touching memorial. Originally for a oil tanker crew that perished off the coast . Now updated to represent all fallen seamen. Placed here first in 1985, it started to rust and weather over the years. In 2005, after the death of Charles Brouns Jr., the Valero Aruba Refinery restored and painted the anchor. Since he was instrumental in developing this monument, his name appears on the plaque at it's base.

The wild donkeys were about, yet did not bother us. It is good to have people in the picture for scale, as this thing is massive.

Excellent opportunity to stop and take some beautiful pics of the ocean in the background and the desert like landscape including tons of cacti and rock formations … if you are lucky you will see some wild donkeys!

We drove by this while driving around the island. I snapped a picture, but we didn’t stop. It would make for a good Gram background if you are in to that sort of thing.

Nice memorial to the fallen seamen. I came across the red anchor on my way to baby beach. I was able to see donkeys and birds along the paths to the coastline.

A pretty cool sight. Our favorite part was the guy sitting across selling fruit and if you're lucky, you'll be able to see donkeys hanging out by the anchor
