We brought our adult kids with us for Christmas vacation along with their fiancé’s and set up a tour with Alfred. Our family has 3 avid photographers and we were able to spend as much time at each site as we desired. Alfred is well educated about the island and fun to be around. Would define recommend touring with him. He gets you to the places that regular cars can’t get to.

First time to Aruba with 3 kids (22, 18, 12) and girlfriend of 22 year old son. Wasn't sure if we should break up the beach time with a jeep tour but so glad we did. Alfred was an amazing tour guide--fun, informative, personal, unrushed, friendly. It was just the 5 of us from PA and 2 great guys from Columbia. We had a fantastic time being knocked around on the off roads, visiting each destination on the 1/2 day tour (lighthouse, gold mill ruins, chapel, natural pool). Alfred took the time to explain it all and more, with plenty of water and pop on ice to keep us going. A huge thanks to Alfred for helping my 18 year old daughter with disabilities who had trouble walking down to the natural pool. With my iffy knee I appreciated his kind assistance to her all the way down and back up. The natural pool was beautiful though a little more rough and slippery than I expected. Not for folks who can't be jostled or navigate slippery rock steps. We loved our two jeep-mates and we all had a great time together. The tour was supposed to end at 1 but we didn't get back till 3, glad we booked the morning tour and traveled with Alfred. It was definitely the highlight of our trip, though we were glad to get back to the lazy pace of the beach that afternoon! I definitely recommend it--take the morning tour so you don't get someone else in the afternoon if the morning tour lasts longer like ours did!!

Papa Alfred the best tour guide you can find on Aruba...
He will bring you to wild side of the island (north coast) the natural bridge, goldmill ruins, lighthouse, natural pool and more.
By most of the stops he stay longer
The truck is a Mercedes Benz German troop carrier much bigger than the others, it can carry 12 people comfortable.
Be prepared for the bumpy road to the natural pool.
The pool was very nice and Papa Alfred was all the time there helping us getting inside the pool and out...what a great day we had.....!!!!

Just got back from our holiday in Aruba and 1 of the highlights was definitely our tour wiht Alfred (Madagascar tours). He arrived a few minutes late (make sure you have his phone number so you can call him if he is late...he answered my call and was there a few minutes later) but he was great from beginning to end. We had the chance to tour the island and visit most of its natural attractions while riding in an old german army surplus truck (the kids had a ball). Beware of the many bumps along the way (it's a rough ride ) but it was all worth it. Alfred was the key to the tour. He was informed, funny , honest and we went out of his way to make our interesting. I recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Aruba (you won't regret it). Thanks Alfed (from the 2 families from Canada!).

Enjoyed every moment of day and honestly could not have asked for more. Our feeling was amazing. We were four in the group all colleagues as we planned our Aruba tour from office only.
When Alfred is with you, there is hardly anything that you may ask for, he knows it all what you must be thinking of doing the next…. very careful and friendly.
The island is amazing and the best of it was that natural pool. Make a point to spend some more time around, you would love the feel.

I highly recommend this tour. Alfred is the owner and tour guide and he runs the tour like he is your personal guide to the island. There was very bad weather the day of our tour and Alfred adjusted around it to save the day for us. Based on our interests and the limits due to the weather and moved stops around and added things to make up for what we couldn't do because of the hard rain. He explained the sights and local Aruba facts/customs. He would stop and for pictures and was very accommodating to our interests. The morning tour pretty much covers the majority of the island sites. There isn't all that much to them, but the scenic and rugged drive around the island is lots of fun. You really get to see a different view than the hotel strip.
Take this tour you will have fun and a new friend in Alfred.

Alfred picked us up as scheduled in the big Madagascar truck. The tour started from the California Lighthouse, situated at the north end of Aruba. We visited about 5 attractions before we reached the Natural Pool. Amazing places you may not discover on your own. Alfred gave us enough time at each stop. He is very informative about the sights and history of Aruba. The ride was rough, but Alfred is a great driver. A ride we will "never forget" and for only $60. Thank you Papa Alfred for this wonderful day from the family of 6 from Texas.

My husband I just returned from our 4th trip to Aruba....and each time we return to the island we love it even more than before. The weather is perfect every day and every evening ends with a beautiful sunset....it's absolute paradise!
We discovered a new tour on this recent trip. A gentleman named Alfred has started his own Jeep Tour Company called "Madagascar Aruba Adventures". We hired him to take us and some friends who were traveling with us on a custom tour of the island. Our friends, who were first time visitors to the island, loved the tour......and it was also a great tour for me and my husband....we saw many sights and locations we'd never seen previously. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island for the first time....but I especially recommend this if you've done Jeep tours on a previous trip and want to explore Aruba in a different way. The website is:

My boyfriend and I just got home from our week long vacation in Aruba. We did the Madagascar tour and was thrilled with it! We were the only people who booked that day and Papa Alfred had no problem just taking the two of us around. My boyfriend and I are both young adults - we really weren't interested in a tour bombarded with useless information, but Papa Alfred managed to make everything informative and fun. The ride to all the attractions also had me on edge of my seat, literally, but my boyfriend found it very fun. I would definitely do this tour again. Papa Alfred is a very knowledgeable tour guide and a great driver. He's also a great photographer as he had no problem snapping pictures of us all day.

We went with "Papa" Alfred on 4/11/10
There were only six of us on the tour which gave us plenty of room in the back of the truck. The truck is a Mercedes with plenty of cushioned seats and back rests.
Papa takes you to all the spots in Aruba that you read about, the Lighthouse, the Chapel, the Natural Bridge (that has fallen down) a smaller Natural Bridge, the Gold Mine and the Natural Pool.
The best thing about Papa's tour is that he is the owner and only operator of this tour.
He is very personable and informative about the Island. At every stop he would come to the back of the truck and tell you a little bit about each place before he let's you off. He does not rush you through any place, in matter of fact our 4 1/2 hr tour turned into a 6 hr tour because he did not have a tour that afternoon.
Another nice thing was that he did not bore you or try to be a comedian, he was funny and answered any questions you had of him. He also supplies drinks and snacks.
I would highly recommend the Madagascar tour for everyone wanting to see Aruba

I will be in Aruba in the middle of June. I was looking at the private tour. I will be traveling with 13 other guest. It seems that you had a good time and the tour guide was great. It also seems that what he offers is more reasonable than some of the other tour company's that are charging per person. Did he stick to the exact time that you booked the tour for or was there some lead way.?

Good morning! We read about your tour in Moon Aruba and decided to check y'all out on Trip Advisor. The reviews definitely make it seem like this is the best tour yet. We do want to find out a few more details, though. First, what is the price for the tour? Second, what is the maximum number of people you can hold? And finally, how soon in advance do we need to book? We look forward to hearing from you!

IN answer to previous question you said all the answers were on their website. I never did find a price. What is it?
Written 18 March 2016
Hi Harry, did you click on the "Tours" tab? There I can see all the different tours with their corresponding prices for adults and for kids. TripAdvisor won't let me copy any links, but just go to the Tours tap on their website. Every price is there. Cheers.

Hi Barbara. We found all the info at their website madagascar-aruba-adventures
They are a small company and don't have all the media exposure that the big ones have, but thet are really the "little hidden treasure"! Great tour and best prices as no other company can offer. we had the best time at way less of the cost of other bigger companies. Enjoy!
