We took a water taxi from Nelsons Dockyard to the beach to walk to Shirley Heights via the Desmond Trail which starts just up the road from the beach. Cost $4US each. The boatman said that if we wanted to return by boat that the guys in the resort security hut would call him to come over but we walked... More

Love this beach, the ships that must have come and gone from this harbour, stunning, quiet, with wonderful views and just a stones throw from English harbour...

The entrance to the beach is not easy to find as at the beginning of the road there is a "private" sign. A local lady told us to go despite the sign so we were able to access the beach. It's not one of the best beaches on the island, the anchor and the small pier are really nice but,... More

We enjoyed our visit to Galleon Beach. Good snorkelling and some small waves for jumping in. Would recommend for families

Great to be able to look over at Nelsons dockyard and imagine the ships going in for cleaning. Relaxing and clean

We have visited this beach twice. It's nice and peaceful at present as its off season. It has a lot more seaweed than Pigeon Beach, but is lovely as an alternative, especially on Sunday's when Pigeon Beach gets very busy.

at the end of season we had this beach all to ourselves. We found a fresh coconut which we opened with a rock (took some time :) ) and enjoyed the fresh, although very warm, water out of it. At the time there was an excavation on the beach and we had a great chat with the archeologists digging there...... More

A nice unspoiled beach with a hiking trail at the end giving access to further beaches and the wooded headland. The English Harbour end of the beach is both wider and sandier. The water is clean and clear with areas of safe sandy bottom for the waders and reef/weed/coral for snorkling. Lots of fish including quite large tarpon and the... More

The beach is very romantic caused by the scenery. The restaurant on the beach doesn't serve a lot of food, it's beter for some drinks

Nice quiet and peaceful beach with an amazing restaurant called Cheeky Marlin. They have nice fresh salads and amazing drinks. I had the mango daquiri and the pina colada daquiri and both were very refreshing. The food on the island was surprisingly rich (it was my first visit) this was a nice change to have something light to choose from
