The villa is famous for the gardens. Those are split in 3 levels, with magnificent fountains and water plays. Considering it has been built in the 1500, this is a great masterpiece of Italian culture

Villa Lante's gardens are nice, but not that big nor impressive. The day before we had visited Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, which made a more lasting impression.

You will read a lot here about how Villa Lante and Villa Farnese are comparable. Perhaps only an employee of the Italian state might think so. Villa Lante is small, the water is not all running, and the two little villas have some funky murals...More

We stopped into Villa Lante because it was recommended as a stop on our way to Rome Airport. WOW was I completely amazed - even more so probably because we had no expectations - just stunning! Luckily for us a family who we'd helped navigate...More

Our first attempt to visit Villa Lante was not successful, we boarded a local bus from out the front of the Ferrovia Viterbo Civita C. Roma, when we arrived at the gates of Villa Lante only to find them closed! It was the day after...More

What a beautiful, tranquil place adjacent to the town. The outside park is free to use, gardens 5E and I do not know what the cost is to visit the Villas.

This is only a small place, but the fountains are lovely. The planting is mainly box hedges, but the patterns of these were very intricate. Worth a look if you're in the area.

The gardens and the design of the fountains and other water designs are a jewel, well worth the 5 euro entry fee. We also got lucky and visited shortly before there was a tour of the two villas. In the end we were fortunate to...More

I am a garden geek and did all the gardens of the Roman countryside. Villa Deste and Villa Farnese are certainly larger and grander, but Villa Lante is perfect as a whole, and in its intimacy. Loved it! Much better maintained than Farnese.

Sometimes you can find a spot outside the church. However before you get to the center on the right is a car park. I believe you will need to pay for a spot. I was lucky and found a free street spot, but a bit of a walk.

from porta romana no but from the main bus station in viterbo "sacrario" you can catch a number 6 bus to Bagnaia which takes you right to Bagnaias main square and it's 10 second walk away to villa Lante hope this helps 👍
