As the title suggests, I would recommend stopping by if you're already in the area. It's a very reasonable price to see the temple. I wouldn't recommend traveling to Tarxien just for these, however, as a lot of the temple has been rebuilt or reconstructed...More

I've seen a lot in this world, and certainly a lot of ancient places! Roman ruins in Hungary, the pyramids in Egypt, Petra in Jordan, the Terracotta Army in China. But the Tarxien Temples are older than all of them ... by thousands of years...More

This 6000 year old temple complex is now surrounded by buildings and has recently been roofed over to protect it (and the visitors) from the elements, Not a huge amount of info boards - should use the audio guides.

Nice visit to the temples, good display boards and the site is easily accessible from the city by bus or by car.

Worth a visit if you are in Malta. We drove and there was plenty of parking in the surrounding streets.

This site of neolithic temples is well worth a visit for anyone with an interest in early history. It is a short bus ride from the centre of Valetta. It is a self -guided tour, but the site is well laid out, with good explanatory...More

Hello David. I e-mailed Heritage Malta yesterday. They said that the Hal-Saflieni Hypogeum restorations should be over by mid-2017. So, hopefully, you will be able to view this site: if so, don't miss it. You can... More
