Visited on Veterans Day 2017 and gained a thorough appreciation of the experience allied troops faced during the invasion of Normandy. This is a must see historical attraction.

This is why you travel to Normandy - to see Omaha Beach and visualize what happened in 1944. This is a really wide and long beachfront. Hard to believe that this tranquil place was a place that thousands died.

Wide expanses of golden sand. It is difficult to believe now, that the same sand was soaked in blood on 6 June 1944. The site of the most Allied casualties during the landings.

There is so much to see along this coast, that to get the full experience it is worth doing a little reading beforehand. Give yourself plenty of time to wander the various beaches, and wonder at the enormity of the invasion.

Stopped here while on recent cruise and Normandy tour. It’s a must place to see. Very moving and puts a lump in your throat and brings tears to the eyes. It’s quite a large beach and the walk along the promenade was nice. Highly recommend.

This is both moving and sad. It is well worth a visit and it is lovely to take a long walk on the promanade. It is sad to think of all the poss of life that occurred at surch a lovely setting.

3rd time I visited Omaha beach. The site is impressive in every season and in any company. Summer or autumn. Sunny weather or windy and rainy.

We had a very quick stop at Omaha beach during a full day tour of Normandy. The beach is amazing and huge. Very moving to actually be in such a historical place. Beautiful memorial too.
