This is a small town more popular for handloom sarees if very premium quality and the fort stands in the heart of town as witness to history. Only one day on Ayudha Puja day in Dasara festival days, we gain entry to the fort and meet the family members. All round the fort, shops are built and fully occupied.

This place is still shut due Covid. It was a waste of time driving 75km to arrive at the locked gates. The watchman was adamant & wouldn't even let us take a look around without entering. So much for covid precautions when the temple next to it is teeming with people! AP government needs to publish such facts to avoid inconvenience to visitors.

A place to rejoice and rejuvenate the history about the royalty of Indians. The fort is impenetrable to people to enter for any intruders.

Spend a few hours exploring the magnificent Venkatagiri Fort, for it was once the ruling throne of the Recherla rulers. Bordered by thick forests and a wide variety of flora that showcases a refreshing green environment, the fort rests majestically in the middle providing a quaint appeal. Immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere of the fort as the magnificent edifice offers you a peek into the bygone era, replete with the saga of valor, chivalry, inevitable deceit, and intrigues of running a kingdom. Apart from basking in the tranquil ambiance of the Venkatagiri Fort, take a tour around Venkatagiri, checking out the town’s specialty, cotton sarees weaved in Jamdari .
