Beautiful beach, great for snorkeling too. Restaurants within walking distance. Lock your valuables in the car where the parking lot has a guard on duty. When you are out in the water, your stuff may get taken, esp cash if wallet left ungaurded on the beach there. Most people are honest but there are on occasions an exception. We went many times, great location. wear water shoes. We saw alot of beautiful tropical reef fish, rey's and even a moray eel.

Nice beach with large adjacent park. Great sandy lagoon area that would be great for kids. Had to swim out a little ways to get to the coral but nice once you get there.

It's a really nice beach, but it's also a very small beach. We only came to sunbathe, and we didn't experience the snorkeling or kayaking that others have noted in their reviews. The water is a very beautiful blue, and the area is very scenic. Just note that if you're coming to sunbathe, you are likely going to be close to your neighbor, since the sandy area is limited. We might have to come back and try snorkeling or kayaking!

We stopped there as part of our boat trip, and it was definitely one of the highlights. Our guide Matthieu had a stingray following him everywhere he went. There was also an abundance of fish, and we even saw a moray eel!

We brought a paddle board to explore the area. You can supposedly rent kayaks from the nearby Les Tipaniers resort, but they were closed the day we tried for bad weather. The 2 motus are close by from the public beach and can be reached by kayak in 10-20 min. The snorkeling between these is supposedly very good, we came in the evening when the lighting wasn’t as good but it was still enjoyable. The coral is slightly deeper here in some spots (7-20’ deep) for people who like to dive down or just not be right on top of it, rather than being right over shallower reef. The sandbar where sharks and rays gather can also be reached from the public beach, but it is definitely a further ride with some current and we would go by boat next time instead of paddle board/ kayak.
One word of caution about the park: the signs posted say that it closes at 5:30, and they are serious! We accidentally lost track of time and arrived at 5:45 to find our car locked in the gated lot. Thankfully, a park officer came by between 7:00-7:30 to do a check and was able to let us out of the lot, mauru’uru!

My wife and I recently endeavored on a 28 day cruise to several islands in the Pacific with friends. During the cruise we stopped in Moorea. During our day we took an excusion that took us to Tiahura Beach. This was an outstanding excursion with breath taking views. The people were very friendly and the beach was great. There was a local group of musicians that entertained visitors. This was a highlight of our trip to the many islands we visited in the Pacific. We recommend this beautiful place.

Main beach located in Haapiti. Unfortunately, there did not seem to be a large beachy area to lay out. You walk to the water’s edge and need to descend down stairs to get to the water. We did see showers and restrooms at the site. There are posted signs for operational hours. Be sure to remove your car before they close or they will lock it in.

If you are going to Tahiti, you must must must go to the islands that are not the main island (which is the case for any other island countries like Fiji, another fantastic island for scuba diving and snorkeling). Moorea exceeded my expectations and we had a blast in the prestine waters.

We loved this beach. Lots of shady parking, easy access, very few people. Great visibility in the water for snorkeling. Beautiful!

The beach is a little gem! Yes it is so tiny but I went there on Saturday and there was still place for me! The sand is incredible SOFT, I couldn’t find a better one (on Moorea, of course). The water is really clean and full of any kind fish. I have been walking for almost 10 minutes without sinking. The beach is located inside of a park, that closes at 17,30. At the entrance a guard will welcome you. Free toilet, showers and tablets are provided. A shopping center is few meters away. Enjoy the day in this beautiful beach!

Hi, Tiahura is on the northwest coast of Moorea. Yes, we drove our rental car there. Very easy, and plenty of parking. We used google maps to locate it. It's easy to get around the island. One main road encircles the island, and Tiahura is off that main road.

Hello - Thanks for a great review! Please could you send name and email of company where you hired the motor boat? Did you rent it from the InterContinental Hotel or another location? We'll be on Moorea soon and we want to motor out, too. Love to eat at Coco Beach Cafe also!
