Beautiful beach, loads of parking, surf school/hire, great waves, great little snack place with lots of seating in and out of sun. Amazing “special one” burger, good menu and very good prices. Chilled atmosphere, stunning views

Beautiful beach worth driving/biking to. Hiked up to restauarant just to the north to see the beach from the Cliffside and enjoyed a stunning sunset.

Scenic and wide beach with huge drawings in low tide to really open up the entire Oceanside to walking and sports. Surfing is perfect for beginners. Reminds me of hiidden surf spots in Southern California during the 80s. Dogs running everywhere made it feel very friendly. Highly recommend as an alternative to congested beaches.

somewhat remote, large, wide-open beach; relentless, dramatic surf; ample parking; restaurants; surfing instruction coaches....

This is a stunningly beautiful beach....on a coastline where there are any number of great beaches....access is via steepish but short path or wooden steps....the multicoloured cliffs are what makes it so picturesque.....there's a couple of surfschools there.....which tell you that sea swimming without some bouyant device would be dodgy....when we were there even surfers did not go beyond the outer waves....in season there's some beach cafes which are ok for snacks & the usual beverages....but the big car park implies that it probably gets pretty busy in the summer....

We always love to visit this beach. We are normally here January, February or March when there are very few people around. The beach is popular with surfers so there are a numbers of campers around and we can admire the surfers riding the fairly substantial waves.

A round trip walk the length of the beach provides good exercise for the legs as the sand is very soft. Beware of the tide as it comes in quite far at different points.

In Autumn it's quite deserted, no crowds. Very pleasant sand and lovely bar with gorgeous views. Must visit.

Having been along the sourthern coast up to now we fancied a trip to a western coast beach and this was the closest one.
It is not too far along a reasonable track from the road and there is a large car park but even this was struggling for space.
This was the only day out of 11 that it was not full sunshine - not sure if it was just being on the west coast but it was partly cloudy with a good breeze - made a bit of a change! The waves were also the biggest we wad seen in the Algarve.
In spite of this (and it being a large beach) it was very busy, particularly at the start and with surfers. However further down it was quieter with some good sand dunes and a scramble up to the cliff with some good views.
Worth a visit but not our favourite!

This is predominantly a surfing school beach.Parking can be a bit tricky. It was good for surfing and you can hire wetsuits(€10) and surfboards(€25) for the day.As all beaches on the Algarve it is beautiful and easy to find.

Spectacular beach but now spoiled by too many people, surf schools and bars. It's been destroyed by its popularity- the beach version of the tragedy of the commons.
