Exquisite historic river with springs along the busy Via Flamina is this oasis of tranquility and calm. Virgil wrote of its natural beauty where the Emporer Caligula came to worship the River God Clitunno and consult the ancient oracles. One of my favorite places to visit for its serene natural beauty coupled with its ancient origins.

Very quiet place. Perfect for everyone, you can go alone or in company. There are swans and various kinds of paper. You walk and enjoy nature. They are also working on expanding the area. Everything is very nice.

These are the sources of Clitunno river, immortalized by Giosué Carducci's poem. In Via Flaminia, the well preserved small park is fantastic for a relaxing stopover to walk among its trees Swans sliding on its waters complete the bucolic atmosphere.

We took our picnic lunch to the Fonti del Clitumno and enjoyed the peaceful setting. The families of white swans and the ducks added to the occasion. The story of the natural spring and the ancient sacred place which was destroyed by an earthquake in...More

We stopped here for a visit and morning tea but I would happily spend a whole day here relaxing and reading a book. Early morning is very quiet and hot days are busier. The entrance fee is very cheap for this sort of peace and...More

This is a well maintained park with lakes fed by natural springs. The water is very clear and fresh and attracts many breeding pairs of ducks. There are restaurants nearby or you could take a picnic. Access is a little tricky from Spoleto unless you...More

Well worth the side trip. Quiet, serene. Took some wonderful photos of the springs, the crystal clear water and the swans.
