Very beautiful, clean and little less crowded beach near Chapora with good restaurants, pubs and water sports activities. One can go to Chapora Fort from there or climb up the hill to watch sunset. One can enjoy nicely in this shallow beach with open music around.

Beautiful clean beach which has beach shacks serving food and drinks, and sun loungers to relax on. Great spot to view the sunset. Not very crowded, quite a small beach. Only thing we didn't enjoy was there were so many people walking around trying to sell stuff, and asking the same thing multiple times after having been told a stern no.

This is a rocky beach. There is a sunset point from which one can watch a beautiful sunset. There are stairs hidden behind the small shops by which you can come down to the beach. The waves are very calm and so makes a good spot for bathing especially for kids. People using four wheelers please cross check with the locals for the parking spot as the maps are a little misleading.

Vagator Beach in North Goa is a goos spot for a peaceful morning stroll. It's overlooking the Arabian Sea, and the views are spectacular. The beach is relatively quiet, with only a few people out for a morning walk. From here you can spot a sunrise over the coconut grooves of hotel W, perfect for a relaxing stroll. The waves are gentle. All in all, Vagator beach is an ideal spot for those looking for a peaceful morning stroll. worth exploring!!

Full of local tourists who are staring at you, making videos, asking to take a photo of you just because we're white skin. Disgusting. Not to mention the dirt everywhere. In GOA you cannot find trash bin, like anywhere. Everybody just throwing their trash wherever they want.
This is not only review of Vagator beach. We visited many beaches in North Goa: Baga, Candolim, Sinquerim, Anjuna - they are all the same. Overcrowded with local tourists, super dirty with trash everywhere. Surprisingly, the sea is very clean.
The only beach that is not that bad is Morjim. Not so crowded and you can find the space where you are not the only foreign tourist, and where you can feel comfortable to swim in the swimsuit.

Beach was clean. It was crowded with few people enjoying football. Water sports were available. Great place to click photos. View from the top is also good. Overall a happening place and must visit. Visited during later afternoon and stayed for the sunset. Nice walk along the beach.

Comparatively less visited beach overlooked by Chapora fort. The water is clean in some places. Beach is clean and maintained. Worth visiting if you are going to Chapora fort. We had a lack luster overpriced lunch in a beach side shack.

We liked this beach when we first arrived but quickly noticed groups of Indian men taking videos and pictures of girls in bikinis and swimsuits. Really blatant about their behaviour and put us off this beach.

I wrote this in my review of Alcove Resorts but I think its too important not to share:
The beach seems nice but actually the sand is really DARK and more like muddy(not like Agonda Beach where the sand is light colored and actually sandy). The beach is FULL of touts, hawkers, LEERING MEN, cows, and trash. The cows are actually not that bad. If you need to go to the bathroom , you have to climb the steep stairs to the resort or use the HOLE in the ground behind one of the many beach "cafes". The loungers at these beach cafes are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Every minute, some women and men come by trying to talk to you and sell you something. Do not answer back, not even a polite response, bc they will sit down and never leave. THE RUSSIAN tourists always entertain them and therefore the hawkers think that everybody will buy something.
The worst part about the beach is the LEERING MEN. This beach is publicly accessible. Therefore, many men come out there in groups and alone. They strip off their clothes and swim and walk around in their underwear. They look at the western women in their bikinis. One of them came up to me at my beach chair, tried to talk to me, then tried to steal my magazine, and he also grabbed my arm and tried to manhandle me. All because I was alone and he thought i was an easy target. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR A WOMAN SOLO TRAVELLER. Even if you are an experienced traveller, this is just not worth it. Its not relaxing having people bother you constantly and having to watch out for these local men. I never even went into the water because I was too nervous. Plus, the water was COLD and there was ALOT OF TRASH everywhere. On the beach to the left, is a haven for gay couples and people who like to rave. On the beach on the other side, MORE leering men, and noisy jetskis...i saw one half decapitate and kill a large sea turtle. They displayed the turtle on a rock, it stunk to high heaven, and the indians were taking photos of it. SO revolting. This is not what I intended for a beach vacation.

Vagator Beach is the best beach in North Goa if you are looking for a tranquil and serene beach. Less people travel to this beach as this located a bit away from the popular beach destinations in north Goa. The best option to visit this beach is hiring a vehicle for a day and take the car to this location and spend some quality time there. You won't find anyone disturbing you, there are no hawkers. I would suggest you to visit the Chapora Fort which gives a aerial and panoramic view of the beach and then go down to the beach from there. Coconut trees by the beach make it more attractive and you get lovely view all around. This beach is not for those who are looking for happenings because it is serene. The tourist traffic is predominantly western backpackers but it is also popular with Indian tourists, who particularly come to watch the sunset from the rocks and those who come to visit the famous Chapora fort. Chapora fort has become famous to Indians after the shooting of "Dil Chahta Hai", "Masti" etc. movies.
We hired a vehicle to visit the north beach circuit and we stopped here for more than 3 hours, we didn't know when the time passed by. We came down to the beach and it was a superb experience being there and witness the mind blowing view of the sea there.
