I have visited this place during 2015-17 many times, It was one of my favourite places and crowded very much.
But now on June 22 this place is really like Khandar nothing else. And now charging 500, earlier there was no charge.

Now I would recommend not to waste time and money for this place. Instead of this better to visit Singhad fort, there at least you will find a crowd, food stall, etc.

Apartment Stay 4/5
Lavasa 2/5

Had heard about Lavasa a lot. As it was a Holi weekend, planned a trip to Lavasa with friends. It took us almost 4.5 hrs from Mumbai to reach Lavasa. The entry fee was Rs 500/- for 4 wheeler n Rs 200/- for 2 wheeler.

We had booked a 3BHK Lake view Apartment with a huge terrace and a Jacuzzi in there . The apartment was very well maintained with a pool table. Lovely view of the mountains. As it had a kitchen so we had carried our own food stuff.

About Lavasa, I would say except Lake n water activities nothing is there. The town is not well maintained. The buildings around are also not re-painted. Most of shops were not operable. Hardly 2 or 3 food joints were open. Could see very few people with their families. No parks and no entertainment for children. We could see the half constructed buildings from our apartment across the Lake. It seemed to be like Ghost town.

Would not recommend to visit this place. It's waste of time and money.

Don't go on the images posted online, as it is not what it was years ago.. it's just a lonely place. Not maintained, no good food, entry fee Rs. 500/-. Everything there seems to be burnt out there. Just another city that has been closed down since years. Its completely deserted area. No fun, No rides, NO PUBLIC - TOURISTS at all. We were all alone in this place.

Not worth now.. the colors , outlet style shops, hotels , European style appartments and eateries ..all faded in a decade..

Hardly anyone else than few couples from Christ college. No shops to eat ..hardly 4-5 shops were open..cattle grazing at many places that used to be scenic...
Abondoned buildings looked like scary town reminds you to leave before it gets dark.

And .. you..yes you have to pay 500 rs to enter to witness this all.

They charge a hefty entry fee of Rs 500
It's a dead place, no one on weekdays
The staff at the Convention centre are rude and inconsiderate. They refused a senior citizen entry to use the toilet and pointed to a public toilet across the canal which would take 10 mins to reach. They need lessons in hospitality
There are no security guards there
All the activities are priced steeply
The only saving grace was Mr Menezes who runs the water sports. He is really working hard to promote tourism. I really enjoyed the inflatable raft ride

The City is abandoned now and looks haunted. No maintenance. All shops and restaurants are permanently closed (most of them) . The parking fee for 1 car is 500/-. Trust me , it's not even worth 50/- !!. We wasted our day. Avoid visiting this place and thank me later. If you go, you will regret anyway. Thanks

This is THE place to roam about when in Lavasa. Charming surroundings and colorful homes and hotels and restaurants make it look like, one is outside India.
The sparkling water, the manicured walkways all add up to it. Pity I could not take any pictures,as it was raining profusely when we were there

Me and my friends visited Lavasa on 23rd July,2016 by car, when we went to Pune to attend a Conference on Joint Replacement.

Make sure you keep Rs 200 ready, while going to Lavasa, paid to God knows whom,as they collect it from every car,as entry fee to Lavasa,a private city

Lavasa
An Incomplete Dream.

With an entry free of 500 Rs. per car the place claims to be a man made town in the midst nature. An attempt to recreate Portofino fishing village of Italy. Known for the controversies of illegal construction and failed promises, the place today stands neglected and lost. Yet, it remains one of its kind and is still visited by puneri folks and Mumbaikars.

I went in peak monsoon from Pune and inspire of the bad roads of Pirangut, I found the drive stunning once I went uphil. The stunning views of Temghar dam and lush green rice fields makes the drive a visual treat.

City looks stunning when you look at it from the hill. But your excitement level fades as you pay 500Rs to enter and walk around to see incomplete constructions, broken infrastructure and empty shops. Maintainance has taken a toll and you will spot human trash and fauna growing where it wants to. The so called well planned city is dying. Mapro and other big names have disappeared. What remains is local shops selling overpriced Indian and Chinese food. The dream somehow is dying a slow death. Locals are hungry for money, don’t even offer a smile to tourists and money is all they need from you.

However, staying close to the lake in those losing colour apartments is a beautiful experience in monsoon. You get stunning views and can literally breath in nature! The walk around the lake and cycling 🚴‍♀️ around will surely be fun. The heavy entry fee keeps the crowd limited and the place quiet. For that it is worth a one night stay. An amazing place for couples to retreat!
Not a place for solo travelling - a bit too expensive. But if you do land up here solo spend time cycling and exploring the valleys on your own. Peace is in plenty❤️.

Let me first start with the drive to Lavasa. The roads are extremely bad, especially in Pirangut. Drive only gets better once you cross Temghar Dam.

At the entry you will charged parking charges for your vehicle Rs. 200 (2 wheeler) or Rs. 500 (4 wheeler).

The most prominent places to click photos are Waterfront Shaw and Dasve Blvd Bridge.

The city is in a sorry state with incomplete construction and most shops or activity centres that have closed the shutters.

I am not sure what banks like SBI and UBI are doing there with their branches.

The state is so bad that there is no water in public toilets on Waterfront Shaw. You sense something is terribly wrong when 5-6 wash basins have no taps on them and the one wash basin that has tap on it has no water.

This city has been forgotten and left for ruins.
