It's great to know that it is accessible from the taipei metro (via the red line). I suggest to go here on a week day to avoid the weekend crowd. A lot of sightseeing options in this area such as the Tamsui Old Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Bali and Fort Santo Domingo. Too bad I wasn't able to catch the sunset... More

Take the terminal of the Red Line that ends in Tamsui. From the MRT station, walk to the bus station that will take you to the fishermans wharf. You can ask from the people at 7-eleven where the bus stop is. The ride took about half an hour and we were brought to a parking lot. Just walk around and... More

Tamsui port was the first port in northern Taiwan, due to the opening of the Port of Keelung and siltation, the gradual loss of business functions, and transformation for sightseeing. Now in the Zhongzheng Road Komeiji Street area, can still see the old-fashioned buildings. Take the MRT to the Tamsui station stop, straight left is Tamsui Street. In the streets... More

It's one of the famous attractions in Taiwan, people can go there for shopping, biking and sightseeing as well. I travelled there together with my dearest friend and her younger sister last summer. It's lively there, someone was biking with his friends, someone was playing a street performance, someone was taking photos...... The wind and the sea were playing music... More

We walk along the river, saw some small places selling food. People playing music, walking dogs, reading and so on. You can take a boat to the other side or to Fisherman's Wharf, where you can enjoy a gorgeous sunset.

Go there for sunset. Cycling snd strolling along the coast. Lots of shops. Toilet absence. Rare in Taiwan, there is a halal diner.

Cheap Seafood, Nice Views, Great walks along the coast line. To get there just take the Red Line all the way to the end. Tip: Stay till sunset, the sunset is worth it.

At the end of one of the MRT line, Danshuei is famous for the "iron eggs" and "tall" soft serve ice cream. You can also get our caricature done for a small fee along the long stretch of artists.

Dahshui was once a day trip from Taipei, now it's only half an hour on the MRT. The old town is fascinating, it dates from the Japanese colonial perod. It's easy to get around Danshui, just wander and see what you find.
