Right off the bat, this is one of my favourite places in Taipei. Its an idyllic old town fronted by some of the prettiest and chic looking cafes, fronted by a really beautiful sea. It gets crowded on weekends, I'd suggest coming on a weekday with an empty stomach so you get to cafe hop a little! Now, if you... More

I went to Tamsui for visiting Fort San Domingue. Returned from that place, I walked along the Tamsui riverside and then stayed about two hours in the park. In this park, we can see the beautiful views of Tamsui river. At the park, many stalls sell various foods. If you have time, you can also ride a boat to travel... More

It gets extremely crowded over the weekend so I'll highly recommend you to go on a weekday if possible. Very accessible, just take the MRT and alight at 淡水 station. It's the end of the line so you definitely won't miss it. Old school charm with fun fair games and shops selling little knick knacks. You can take a boat... More

This is a nice place where you can spend a long time if the weather is good. There are a lot of food stalls with typical local street foods that you can also find in night markets so you will never be hungry. However, it is right by the river so the view is gorgeous! It is also the area... More

Danshui is very vibrant with a long stretch of stalls selling a large variety of food and toys. It is like the 夜市 (night market) and enhanced by the lovely Danshui Fisherman Wharf that runs along it. There are also numerous artists providing caricatures (from NT200). There are buskers too who are really talented singers. It's very easy to get... More

Fun and relaxing experience on a weekday! It's really an easy red line metro ride from Taipei Station all the way to the Danshuei area. Then hop on the convenient shuttle bus at the last stop. Couldn't be easier to get there. It's a lovely place to see the water and enjoy the sunset. You can enjoy shopping , snacks... More

We took the MRT to Tamsui station on a Sunday. Very popular with locals. There are lots of shops and food. We tried the cuttlefish balls -yum. A fun day out from Taipei and train is not expensive at all $40.

A popular tourist attraction in Tamsui, and it is easy to see why. Lovely suspension bridge over the river brings you across to Fisherman's Wharf. On a sunny day, the clear blue skies makes this place a photographer's delight. The promenade stretches across the banks, with well laid out signs and walkways. Restaurants and delightful cafes dotted the bank. The... More

We had the opportunity to walk along the promenade from the metro station to the fisherman's wharf and enjoyed the sunset views. The pathway is well signed and takes you along the water with some parts along the roadside sidewalk. You'll have views of the water, many shops and restaurants along the way, and lots of people watching.

It's nice and relaxing, and a good place to enjoy the local favourties. Take a ferry to the Fisherman's Wharf, and enjoy your drinks and whatever mother nature offers.
