It's a well maintained old street that isn't too crowded on weekdays. It's quite accessible even though I waited at the wrong bus stop from Yingge station. The horn bread is a must try! Give the tiny prepackaged horns a miss though, oily and dry you're better off enjoying the real thing there! The streets next to it are buzzing... More

We arrived in Sanxia Old Street mid-morning and the place is perfect for a morning stroll. The shops are already open but there was no crowd yet so we were just taking our time checking the shops and taking some pictures. We were also able to buy some souvenirs here, lots of affordable trinkets!

Very far from the Taipei centre by bus 702, 705 or 812. Only visit if you wish to see the nearby Zushi Temple since this is a shopping street as any other. It takes at least half a day to get there and back from the city.

Sanxia Old Street surprised my wife and me. It is less famous than Tamsui Old Street or Pingxi Old Street, but it is definitely more photogenic, probably only second to Jiufen Old Street, in my opinion. The nearby Qingshui Zushi Temple 清水祖師廟 rivals Longshan Temple, which adds greatly to the value of a trip to Sanxia. Highly recommended.

I have been to Sanxia Old Street a few times and I have always really enjoyed going into the shops and looking at all of the cool things. This is a great place for souvenirs as there are a lot of things in more Taiwanese or Chinese style. It is also a great place for food. I've gone with a... More

As with all the old streets, this one has its own flavor and specialties. It's easy to walk around and see the old buildings that have been partially refurbished. Take a walk in the old temple - the public toilet is in it anyway. Try the local tidbits - croissants with horns - there were several shops selling this and... More

San Xia Old Street An old business district regained its old charm. It was an old import and export centre for north Taiwan in the old days because of convenience of river transportation. However, it lost its shine when modern ocean liners beat them into desertion. Now this place has been renovated. Shops sprung up with traditional produce on display.... More

Visited here during weekday as apparently it is crowded during the weekend. Traveling here from the city takes about an hour but it was well worth it. What is unique about this place is the people. They are very friendly and not pushy when it comes to selling their products. The place isn't big but do take your time visiting... More

I've lived in Sanxia for 6 months. I come here once a week! There's a pretty good market and old street combo for shopping, souvenir buying, and for a little bit of market food and drinks. There's a temple next to the entrance of the street, and if you walk past it, a gorgeous river walk away from traffic.

Difficult to park the car, difficult to move in the street, difficult to enjoy the relax. Better to come during the weekday.
