Lies in East Midnapore district and at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal Digha is a all season seaside tourist spot in the state of West Bengal, India. Be it a weekday or a weekend Digha is always crowded. It is one of the large and fast developing seaside resort village of West Bengal. It is almost 180 km from Kolkata Airport. Lot of stay options are there. The ambiance is calm in the early morning time but very crowded during the next part of the day. You can visit the famous mangrove region Bichitrapur from here. Add Chandaneshwar Temple in your itinerary.

Digha beach is good but not very easily accessible for specially elderly people. Only few entry points where you can walk down. Rest are all covered with big boulders (though to protect from any cyclone and high waves). Designated places to get access are few and far between. Lot of development work in progress, further hindering access. However, lot of shopping markets and eateries save the day for shopping tourists.

I always heard the complaint that Digha beach is too crowded. But I don't feel that way. I always find it lively. It's been more than ten times we went to the rocky beach of Bengal. I was in school I befriended the beach for the first time. And now with benches to seat for, the seaside of our own state has become more beautiful.

A unique beach possibly found nowhere else in the world. Sand on the beach is so strong that you can drive your car at a great speed not to speak of motor cycles, bikes. Of course due to safety restrictions, cars are not allowed any more. The beach is more than 10 KMs long and attracts thousands of visitors on week ends and during holidays. A very popular destination for holiday makers specially newly wed couples. I first visited this place way back in 1958 and several times

Quite a nice beach on the whole and relatively clean & scenic for the most part, especially as it is one of the closest beaches to Kolkata. However, that being said, the problems I have with this beach (which is why I haven't given it four or five stars) are that the rock area and some of the path/promenade area was very dirty (even though the beach itself was clean), and accessibility through the large rocks is quite difficult and even unsafe because when walking across the rocks at one point to get to the beach, I nearly fell over and hurt myself because of how unstable some of them were (imagine if older or disabled/handicapped people had to go through this because this would be terribly inconvenient for them) - should consider getting a pier or at least a retractable ramp installed in the future to improve accessibility to the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay, we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Digha is always close to my heat. Services were good. Expected the hotel to be a bit more cleaner. Rest all was fine. All the best and we will be back soon.

Over crowded & one of the dirtiest beach. Not recommended unless you are on a tight budget. With little extra budget you can visit lots of other beautiful beaches.

I been there with my friends and we enjoyed there every single moment. We had Papadi chaat and fish fry, unbelievably amazing taste. You will get there fresh bbq seafood. Try to go there with your family and friends because you will have chance to do boat ride, horse riding, parachute flying etc.

where to stay? old digha or new digha/ i need some fun like music and dance
If you refer to song & dance in hotels I have very little experience .Usually people enjoying a picnic on beach are usually seen using recorder plus sound box for the purpose.
I want to go with my fiance is there any possible to stay there without any problem
No problem. In fact, some hotels just love it that way. But better choose any upmarket hotel, preferably one nearby at Mandarmani. Identification papers for both is a must.
