Only the furnitures are royal . However you will get worst treatment. They served cheap bread in complimentary breakfast in cracked and cheap bone china plate. They charged a lot for simple dinner. And no aesthetic feeling at all. I repented going that far from Kolkata.

Had a family visit in Dec’23, booked 1 vintage premium and 2 premium deluxe rooms. The Rajbari complex including garden, portico etc. were well maintained. However, there is not much option to explore the Rajbari. All the allotted 3 rooms were large and reasonably maintained. The rooms were fitted with double bed, table & chair, wardrobe, small wall mounted TV with limited channel, AC, tea / coffee maker and 2 bottle of waters daily. Washrooms were large too and reasonably maintained and fitted with geyser, small soap was provided in the washroom. However, the maintenance of the Rajbari may be improved, the room had sign of damp and water seepage on the wall, broken celling in the corridor, lighting of one deluxe room was limited, water flow in the washroom was low too. We had breakfast and major meal in the inhouse restaurant. Complimentary breakfast was limited to bread butter and omelet only, however there was option of luchi sabji, aloo paratha etc. on chargeable basis. In lunch & dinner, we ordered rice, roti, dal, sabji, aloo posto, fish and chicken curry, the foods to be pre-ordered. Taste of foods were normal, however all the foods were cold, indicates foods were prepared beforehand. Also, the serving was haphazard indicating possible shortage and untrained staffs. The prices of foods were reasonable. Overall, the dining experience was not very satisfactory and hence had 2nd day dinner at the restaurant of adjacent Rajbari tourist complex. The staffs were courteous. Parking is available inside the complex. Overall, the stay was comfortable and enjoyable with certain adjustments.

Visited this property with my family and 6month old daughter. It's a huge and we'll maintained properly. Food is royal, tasty and unlimited too. We have booked premium vintage rooms which is huge in size, almost double the size of regular bedrooms.
Behaviour of the staffs are very warm and humble, you just need to reciprocate that way. They provide almost all modern amenities except wifi.
A special thanks to Sanjeev, who was the attendant for us for the extra support.

Those who are booking this property, please keep it mind it's a Royal Guest House, not a hotel. Few of the royal family members still do stay there. So, take permission if you want to explore the entire palace. Again, don't treat this as a hotel, enjoy the laid back royal experience, respect the property and the staffs.

Lovely palace in a beautiful garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful but not really professional. Food is rather simple and needs improvement.

The Palace I went inside by buying a ticket from the Manager at Jhargram Rajbari Tourist Complex @Rs15 per head. I was just disheartened because I expected the royalty b to exist in its architecture and the of the caretakers. The Palace is being converted into a Guest House. The royal feeling was totally missing. The lawns and gardens and in very bad shape. The ticket amount is just a waste.

Respected Sir, How do you expect a Royal treatment when you booked a lodge in WBTDC complex which is not part of Jhargram Palace Heritage. This is a private property and the ground floor is a Heritage Hotel not a Guest House. Your comments should have been in the TripAdvisor page of WBTDC Jhargram Tourist Complex. You paid Rs 15 to the manager of wbtdc who is not employed by us. Since you were not our guest we can assume your review as invalid. Next time please book a room with us.

I visited this Palace booking office (inside Palace) at 5 pm on 11/4/22. The office was empty. Some junior staff was loitering nearby. I asked him why the booking office is empty. He said - the office staff is taking rest. I asked him - can u call him, its only 5pm. He said - sorry cant call when he rests.
And guys - that was 5 pm. HAHAHAHA.

More surprises awaited. I asked him are all rooms booked? He said - no, many are empty. I asked him - can u show me a room. His answer - no, what if you see the room and then don't take it. We cant take that risk.
HAHAHAHA.

Can you believe this. But every word of what I wrote was true.

Respected Sir, This is Jhargram Palace Heritage a privately run hotel by the royal family of Jhargram. You must have visited Jhargram Rajbari Tourist Complex right outside the gate which is operated by the Government . Your reviews are in the wrong place because you can't even enter the palace gate without a valid booking. Take care .

At first, tourists must not be confused with the Grand Raj Palace and the Rajbari Tourist Complex. To get a feel of the royalty, history and heritage one has to stay at the Rajbari Heritage hotel which is situated on the ground floor of the palace itself. The royal family stays in the first floor of the same palace. And it will not be a surprise if one gets a chance to meet the charming prince Vikramaditya Mallya Deb. I did have the opportunity in the the two evenings we stayed there. And what is more, I got a chance to meet his excellency the king Virendra Vijay Mallya Deb, popularly known as Durgesh Mallya Deb (remember the film "Durgeshgarer Guptadhan"?... It was not only filmed here but the legend of the hidden treasure is also about this palace.) ... The palace is a huge one. Well-maintained, though a little more maintenance is required as the toilet of our Royal Suit gave us some real problems. The manager, Sujan Roy and the staff really tried a lot to relieve us of that problem, but it needs some more maintenance. Mr. Roy was really helpful. He showed us the remaining portions of the ancient palace and some more treasures of the dynasty. He also suggested us to visit Savitri temple which one should go if he/she has a nose for history. The food is also very fine qualitatively and quite difficult to finish quantitatively. But probably a bit more variety can be added and evening snacks can also be of more variety.

Well, these are mere suggestions, not problems. And as a suggestion, a small museum can be built in the courtyard too. Leaving everything else, it is an experience we will cherish always. Leaving everything else, it is a royal experience living in the royal palace and spending some time with the royalty too.
