A great place for photography in the park, and particularly at sunrise. Can't beat the short walk for the views that you are rewarded with!

We got up early and hiked in to view the sunrise. We are not super fit hiker types but found the hike to be fairly easy. We took breakfast with us and sat on the rocks at the overlook watching the sun come up. There were only 4 other people there so it was very serene. On the way in... More

Must do! Get there early. Be sure to look for parking as soon as you come out the tunnel if coming from the west!

We went around sunset - it seemed perfect but make sure you leave enough time to come back down. The hike was a bit moderate, not that easy - I had to carry my 3 year old in a couple of places. This was the best hike we did at Zion with our son.

I recommend this hike for everyone. It is a 1-mile round trip hike with a pretty nice view. The trail is an easy trail. My 72-year old mother had zero issues hiking it.

I'm a Zion veteran with at least 6 visits. Have done this trail in Sept, Oct, Dec and March. In the off season I have seen mountain sheep both below and above the trail. The initial part of the hike may seem difficult but the grade evens out not far into the hike so don't let your kids get discouraged... More

This is one of my favorite hikes in Zion. It is fairly easy and the views from start to end are spectacular! The starting point of the trail is across a small parking lot just outside the east entrance of the tunnel. The first few hundred feet is really the "hard part" of the hike. You have to climb some... Absolutely worth the time. My wife did not like the narrow path with 30-100 foot drop offs, but I talked her thru all the tough spots, and she handled the walk back with no trouble. If you can handle the first 5 minutes, you can do the rest; it's well worth it.

First of all, I am pretty sure this hike is longer than 1/2 mile as posted. I think it is closer to a mile or 1 1/4 mile. Its a nice little hike. It is also mentioned somewhere that it is kid friendly, but I personally think their are too many narrow trails with cliffs that I would not recommend... More
