Amazing Views but very difficult hike!

I am a 51 year old woman who is honestly, not in great shape. I've been working harder to get in shape so maybe I should come back and try this again once I loose some weight and get in shape but I just want to warn you guys that this is a very hard hike! I've done Angel's Landing... More

The best view of Zion....You can see Angels Landing down below as your looking at the canyon. You are on the side of the mountain looking down, but the walkways for the most part is 3 feet or wider.

I was torn between doing Angel's Landing or Observation Point - had actually dismissed the latter due to the distance. But upon getting to the park office early, the decision about Angel's Landing was made easy as it was Easter weekend and we were told it was already packed. So we decided to hike Hidden Valley which also has exposure... More

Observation Point trail is classified as strenuous. We hiked along with our two daughters who are 10 yrs and 16 yrs old. We are not experts at hiking, but our family enjoys hiking and we have done 4 to 5 hour trails at our home town location (in Bay Area). On the way we saw few couples, who were 60+... More

Long hike, but it was worth it for the views. You are so high up that you get an amazing view of the whole canyon, and you are looking down on Angels Landing.

Started off with a rather strenuous continuous climb then going through some slot canyons. After the slot canyons a doable climb starts, but the last bit to the plateau is a killer with another continuous climb. Started at 9AM and it wasn't really crowded. There is enough space to pass, nothing scary.

The view from Observatory Point is absolutely stunning. The hike is very steep and you'll need a lot of water. There is a backdoor to the place if you enter the park from the eastside that will let you avoid to take the steep passages because you already are on almost the same altitude like the point (you'll get detailed... Ok, i used to think Angels Landing was the best trail there but after about a half dozen visits to the park, I finally went to Observation Point. Wow. 2hr10min up with photos but well worth the effort.

This hike takes 4-5 hours round trip and is 8 miles total with 2500 ft elevation gain. It has incredible views throughout the hike. There are many switchbacks with long drop offs. However I am very afraid of heights and was able to make it up. The trail is wide enough and there is good solid flat footing on most... More

best hike in zion in my opinion. less crowds than angels landing, and a slightly more strenuous walk with nicer views at the top. i really enjoyed the changing landscape as well. this is a must-do in zion! it's about 8-9 miles round trip so you should pack a lunch to eat near the top, and probably 2L of water...
