The best time to hike this trail is near the end of October. That's when the maples have changed to various shades of pink and red. Due to the way the red rock canyon walls close in towards the end of the hike, it's pretty impressive any time of the year.

This is over a 6 mile round trip hike, so take plenty of water, but the hike itself is not strenuous and it is well worth it at the end. You hike back and forth across the creek until you come to two cabins built back in the 1930's. Then you hike on to the end where you will be... More

This is an easy hike and lovely first thing in the morning before it gets too hot. Trail is largely shaded and crosses a creek bed 30-40 times before reaching a "double arch" in stone which is well worth the hike. Not nearly as many people in this northern part of Zion which is also a major plus. And it's... More

When reading these trail reviews you will see a lot of discrepancies; most likely a person's expectations did or did not equal the actual experience. So decide what you are actually looking for in a hike and the reviews will be more helpful. We were at the end of our trip and exhausted from some strenuous hikes earlier on and... More

The trail takes you crossing Taylor creek many times. This is a great way to cool down throughout the hike. Just make sure you bring lots of drinking water since this side of the park is more wild. The main reward you get from this trail is a massive impressive alcove at the end of the trail. But if you... More

Quiet and enjoyable hike. We happened to visit during a little rain, so it was even more pleasant on the open spaces. Hike goes along little creek and you have to cross it about 40 times - no problem at all as it is very narrow and small. The alcove very picturesque and sure worth the hike to it.

My husband and I took this hike on our one and only full day in Zion National Park because were worried that Zion canyon would be far too crowded. We started at 8:00 am and were the first ones there and didn't see anyone else for almost 3 hours until we began our hike back. It is a relatively easy... More

Read reviews saying this was a must stop. The drive into Kolob Canyon was nice but this trail was very disappointing. Better to spend that time in the Park.

This hike is five miles round trip. It is excellent for families. There gradient is very gradual. It follows a year around stream, passes two historic cabins, and ends at a beautiful red alcove with a double arch. Compared to other hikes in Zion National Park, this one is a lot less traveled. Definitely worth a few hours.

This was an excellent hike, located in the far less visited Kolob Canyons district of Zion NP. I covered the middle fork, which is the commonly travelled section found in the hiking guide at www.nps.gov/zion Did not cover the north fork or south fork, which are options to Taylor Creek. This particular hike takes you along a slow flowing stream.... More
