Great walk, requires a bit of challenging walking at the end, quite rocky and rough. The pools are amazing. There were lots of flowering plants, great views.

The hike to the three emerald pools is one of the reasons Zion is a great hiking park. It is less strenuous than the hike to Angel's Landing. Take your water and sunscreen stop to look around, vistas constantly switch at Zion. Hiking here is...More

Nice hike on a very busy weekend at Zion. Our initial objective was the lower pool but with a couple of enthusiastic 20-somethings in our group this 50-something got a good workout. I'm glad I wore my good hiking boots and was surprised at the...More

Trail has three levels: lower, middle, and upper. Lower is paved and great for small children. Middle and Upper pools get a little more rugged. While our 6 year old made it all the way to the upper - we were definitely anxious at times...More

And it was even better this time because I had snagged us a cabin in the park for two days, so all we had to do was walk to the trailhead and start hiking. No waiting on line at the entrance to the park, no...More

This was one of the best trails I have ever done. I have visited this national park a numerous times and I feel that this was one that I will always remember.

We were part of a group tour and our guide Christopher took us to the lower pool. I had read that there may not be much water depending on the recent rainfall, but we lucked out. There was a free flowing waterfall above us and...More

This trail is paved and wide. Pretty easy trail even if you rarely hike. Some uphill areas but not steep. There were people with young children and strollers! Much of it runs along the river which is very pretty but not accessible. It is accessible...More

Great hike for most levels of hikers. This is about an hour round trip hike. Bring plenty of water and expect a rocky terrain. As long as you can climb steps and walk an hour of rocky terrain you should be fine.

This is off the beaten track but worth the effort to get there. If it has been raining, so much the better. When it is dry there is very little water and the 'falls' are merely a trickle. When it is wet this is a...More

No, you don't need a guide for these hikes. (I don't know about The subway). For Narrows you might need some equipment that you can rent near the entrance to the Park. Emerald Pools is an easy hike if you start from the... More

Hi, I'm planning a return trip here at the end of summer. 5 yrs ago I did the Narrows and it was fantastic, but tiring then. I'm 60 now and my hips are riddled with arthritis, never know if I'll have a good day or a bad one. However I'm determined to hike, albeit slowly, in Zion again. Want to see the emerald pools, so, any suggestions on the best route? I do best on level surfaces, but will happily do inclines or steps as long as I can go slow, stop from time to time. I'm determined and will be bringing along hiking poles. Thanks!

I think it will depend on your ability and determination. I am 61 and have a bad knee but I am in good shape otherwise. I took lots of breaks and my daughter helped me down the steeper parts of the upper pool trail (going... More
