Sometimes it's hard to title these things, but if you don't want to wait for large groups to pass during your hike than you will want to be at Angels Landing by at least 8am. I was slowest in my group because I wasn't physically ready for the trip, so even being at the end of the line going up,... More

Well we did the hike up to the cables. I had already told myself I wasn't doing the cable part since I'm a little nervous with heights. The hike was still awesome. Definitely taxing since it's so steep! I'm in decent shape and was winded! We continued into the rim hike for a bit which was really nice. Coming down... More

This is a very popular hike and even in early March it was pretty busy. Crossing the street from the Grotto the path first leads along the river. Eventually the trail will become steeper with tight switchbacks. Most of this part is paved, which I personally don't like. After 2 miles you reach the Scout Lookout with nice views of... More

Great hike in the winter. However, lots of ice on the trail from the beginning to the end. The ice/snow gets 'polished' by the many people hiking on it rendering it treacherous in places. Beautiful views from many point on the trail and when we reached the saddle there was a volunteer ranger talking about Condors, very interesting. Lots of... More

I suggest you start first thing in the morning, as soon as the trams start you should be on that first ride. If you wait the more traffic there will be on the mountain on the way up. We started about 0630 on the way up. Angel's Landing is a beautiful experience!! My boyfriend and i assumed we would take... More

We had planned one full day of winter hiking in Zion. It was late february, cold, windy and slightly snowing. My girlfriend had never really hiked on mountains before, and this trail is mentally challenging because of the 1000 ft drops on both sides at points of the narrow trail. Although a bit scared, she summoned the courage to get... More

This is a hike I will never forget and I recommend it to anyone that can walk uphill. You don't have to be an avid hiker to make the hike but you should be able to go on long uphill walks to make it.

The hike definitely is strenuous but at the end it'll be worth the exhaustion. The view is good and the part where you hold the chains and climb on, make it interesting and memorable. You'll have fun here if you love hiking and mountains. The drop is really jaw-dropping.

Not if you are afraid of heights. Glorious views, though. We were in a bus on the way back to our car when we overheard a woman say, "Why would anyone do that??". We just smiled. It was amazing.

First mile or two is paved uphill, pretty accessible if a decent climb. After Scout's Lookout, the climb is tricky but well worth the challenge once you hit the top! From Scout's (and after doing the main Angel's Landing climb), highly recommend going along the ridge away from Angel's Landing before going down (cannot remember the trail name but there... More
