I little scary, but maybe the best view I've seen on a hike.

I have a moderate fear of heights, but the chains made the steep parts doable and safe. I'm glad I didn't take my kids. I wouldn't recommend to younger than mid-teens. We got... read more

I have a moderate fear of heights, but the chains made the steep parts doable and safe. I'm glad I didn't take my kids. I wouldn't recommend to younger than mid-teens. We got there early to avoid the crowds. The difference between a 5 hour hike and a 3 hour hike is mostly the crowds--because the last mile is mostly... More

Out of all the trails I went of Angeles Landing was my favorite and I'm nine.In my opinion the recordings on the shuttle exaggerated the hike. The first 2 1/2 miles were paved and not to steep there are a lot of switchbacks and it was tiresome hiking the 20-some switchbacks. Once you arrive to Scouts Outlook, the trail is... More

There is a good reason this is the most popular hike in the park. The views are absolutely awe-inspiring, even in comparison to the amazing views from the canyon floor. The middle section of the trail which goes through a narrow canyon is pretty awesome as well. Seeing the last 0.5 miles of scrambling that you will be doing to... More

busiest i have ever seen it. past scout's lookout, it was just stopped and i got tired of waiting and turned back. I am amazed there aren't more accidents given how young some of the kids are being pushed out there by their parents. That being said, the view from Scouts Lookout is very nice.

My 24 year old daughter has never mentioned fear of heights and said this was very scary. It is also very busy. There is a chain for safety but it does not span the entire way. The chain moves a lot with all the people holding on to it. The chain can move outward a few feet and is not... More

this is a must do at zion, in addition to observation point (and the narrows ifit's open/you're up for it). It is actually not a very strenuous hike if you're in decent shape (observation point is a tad more strenuous), but the final section can be scary for those scared of heights - the cliffs are very steep in the... After road tripping across America was definitely one of the highlights! I'd have to say make sure you get on the first bus to angels landing and make that climb. I believe it's either 5:30am or 6am but make sure you get up there first thing to not only beat crowds but to enjoy the peace and beauty. Would recommend... More

We started the hike to Angel's Landing at 8 AM on a Tuesday. After a brief pleasant flat stretch along the river, we began to ascend. For those of us not in great shape, we had to take frequent breaks to catch our breath. The higher up we got, the more beautiful the view. When we got up through the... More

We knew we were late to the game and that this trail would be packed. It was ok going up Walters wiggles but once we got to the top there were just too many people. Didn't do the chains but didn't feel like I missed out!

We're mid 50's in decent shape so here's my best advice: catch the first shuttle (now at 7am)--a must to avoid crowds coming off the peak!, go slow, no shame in scooting on your butt or hands/knees or crab-walking--however you can do this hike, I encourage you to try. Dress warm (we went in late March and it was very... More
