Beautiful views and an easy road to travel. Would not recommend if it is foggy as you cannot see the deer that might be on or crossing the road. On a clear day you can see forever, and usually are able to see several deer.

The national parks service needs to take a good hard look at itself and the service provider. It's so run down.

We stayed here at the lodge for 3 nights and were very pleased. It's modern enough to not feel like you're roughing it, but was still quaint enough to make us feel like we were in the mountains. Our room was clean, the AC worked...More

The first location that the park "developed" for tourism in the early days of the park (1920's). It has very nice areas for lodging and a good wayside and dining option. It's centrally located in the park, along the Skyline Drive and can experience lots...More

We always stay at Skyland Resort when we are in the SNP's. The rooms are basic but offer some type of view of the valley or the woods. Always a comfortable stay, they have room service, a full service restaurant and a well stocked gift...More

We stayed at Skyland Resort and though the view from our deck was lovely, the room was extremely disappointing. Besides not being very clean, the water regulator in the shower didn't work properly and the shower just provided scalding hot water. One of the lampshades...More

Because we didn't plan too far ahead, we were only able to get one night here but really enjoyed it. The rooms are neat and clean, and our porch had a nice view of the valley. It seems like the bathrooms had been updated recently,...More

Stayed here overnite on our 2 day drive down Skyline Drive. View from our room was beautiful. Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. We had one of their recently remodled premier (Motel like) rooms. Not fancy, but more parklike.
