We thought we'd go for a peaceful hike from Roaring River Falls to Zumwalt Meadow. We crossed the swinging bridge, saw the falls...no one else around at all. Then started down toward the meadow. About 1/2 mile down the trail we came across a large black bear eating...too busy eating to mess with us, thankfully. We took a few pictures,... More

Much of this trail is accessible, so stroll through the meadow and enjoy the views of the cliffs and the river. If you complete the loop, you will find yourself scrambling over big rocks that have come down from the cliffs, but it is still pretty easy, fun, and great views.

We visited on a perfect autumn day out of season and enjoyed one of the best walks since having my new hip. Truly a beautiful and peaceful natural environment. Lots of birds to watch.

Great walk around the meadow. Unlike the guides say, it is not flat. The counterlockwise route starts flat and ends with some rocky up and downs, but well worth it.

Here you have a bit of everything- a river, meadow, giant boulders, giant trees, and incredible scenery. We really hoped that we'd see a bear, but no such luck. We did see some deer and quail. It's a pretty level/easy walk, if you take the loop then you will walk through some large boulders- very cool.

We weren't sure that a walk around a meadow would be that dramatic, but this was fun. We got nice views of the canyon walls and the trail isn't all paved, we got to scramble around a little.

Lovely gentle trail along the river in kings canyon. Some stunning views. The drive down into the canyon was spectacular and beautiful descending thousands of feet with fabulous viewpoints. Don't miss this if you are in California.

Great place to stop, stretch your legs of have a picnic. The trail to Zumwalt Meadow is short and easy, all flat, no incline. The meadow in Spring was beautiful, there is a bench where you can sit and enjoy the river.

Great trail, lovely views. Near the end of the Kings Canyon road. You walk from the parking lot, across a bridge, and reach a sign for the trail, it is a loop, you can go either way. If you go left first, it is flat and easy around the meadow. We didn't see any wildlife other than birds. The last... More
