I've always seen pictures of the General Sherman Tree and wanted to see it in person. To finally see it was just amazing. The drive in and out of the park was beautiful. And the walking paths they have in this park are really nice. I would love the opportunity to go back again one day.

This is one of the top attractions because it's the biggest tree by volume in the park, so it gets crowded. Here are a couple things to help you plan you visit. When you drive along the main highway, you'll see a tiny parking lot right there and it's always full. Don't bother waiting there - just follow the sign... More

This is by far the top place to see in the forest. You park about 1/2 mile away and walk down a trail to see this amazing tree.

We had a light snow fall our second night at the Lodge. Waking up to the snow was a real treat for our young family members.

The trail was quite a hike, but the benches available were a god-send. I have knee issues, but I was able to do the entire trail. It was so worth the effort. The tree itself was a wonder!

The tree is everything they say it is - HUGE! The park has done a terrific job of making this site family friendly. You can walk down from the parking lot along a terrific path to the tree or you can park in the Handicap lot right next to it. There is an exhibit of a tree cross section and... More

It's amazing to see this tree, just for the sake of knowing it's the biggest one, however all the other trees surrounding are just as amazing and beautiful.

What a great experience !!! We were traveling with 20 month old baby girl. There was nice not very steep trail to the General Sherman tree. We walked down from parking lot and up . At the road back to the parking lot dad had to carry her . But it was not long hike back 10-15 min.
