Twisting turns and gorgeous views of Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park. Evergreens were lush and still moist from spring snow melt . The aroma of the pine trees will be a lasting memory.

This road takes you from the General Grant tree to the General Sherman tree. The drive is amazing. The mountains, and the woods, and these fantastic specimens of the largest living things on the planet is well worth the effort. Not an easy road, not...More

Generals Highway is the main road, however tight and with no return or overtake in the park. It leads you between 198E and 180, the roads leading to the parks and by the time we finished it, I knew it inside out. Great to visit...More

This is a spectacular highway, with beautiful places to pull over and enjoy the view, but it is curvy, twisting, and up and down hills. There was some road construction and you had to wait for a lead car to go back and forth between...More

I sincerely did not expect to spend as much time in this park as we did. I was told we could do this and Yosemite in a day. We spent a day in each and could have been in both much longer. The Generals Highway...More

Very winding and twisty road for the squeamish not so much fun or those who might get car sick. If you have a bike or a sports car it is a hoot. Trees and more trees than vistas you cannot describe of the Sierra Nevada...More

There was a 2 mile area of construction on the road that CLOSED from 9pm to I think 5am, which ALMOST caused me an issue because it can be quite slow-going on many of these roads with the twists and turns. I made it by...More

The scenery is spectacular with so much to see and explore. Do yourself a favor though and allow most of the day so that you can experience all that this wonderful place has to offer.

The national park is great, but this highway is full of impatient drivers who treat this highway as though it is an amusement ride. They are hell bent on going through the twists and turns as quickly as humanly possible. Relax and enjoy the scenery...More

While you want to do the trip quickly, please be aware that the hairpin turns on the drive to the park are very dangerous and many people drive like maniacs on those turns, so be aware of that. It might be worth taking more... More
