Coming in from rte 180 the Kings Canyon Visitor center is a good first stop to pick up your map, have lunch (it has the only restaurant within an hours drive) and see Grants tree (across the street). The staff was very knowledgeable of the...More

Stopped here after entering kings canyon. Same type of visitor center as the rest of the park. Store had the same items for sale. Bathrooms are available. Small museum/exhibition about the canyon.

Construction was going on in this area and we actually missed the entrance because of poor signage. Rangers were friendly and informative. Exhibits and movie were informational.

We found the staff to be very helpful here and knowledgeable about the area, particularly since so many different camping areas are here as it's at the edge of the national park.

This visitor center was a great starting place for our visit. Our plans were made well in advance but this was helpful once we arrived. Everything in the park is "no frills", but really a beautiful look at nature. Many people had the same idea...More

We stayed at Clovis some 60 minutes away, the drive in passes through Squaw Valley, but on Hwy 180 there is only an Indian Trading Center, which is one of the last places to buy gas, the main Olympic village is elsewhere. The road to...More
