We went on the trail because we had our dog with us and this is one of the only dog friendly trails in the national Park. It was interesting with some information on the boards and there were some places to rest if you needed it. The national Park does allow dogs on any of the paved trails. This was... More

This flat, paved, quarter-mile loop marks the first trail stop for those driving the park's Cactus Forest Loop Drive. We stopped and parked in one of the spaces here on a weekday morning when no one else was around. I had a friend with me, visiting from the West Coast, and she was interested in learning more about desert ecology.... More

Since this is almost in our backyard, we come here often. Love the Loop drive through the Park. However, we have never walked this Trail, as the small parking lot was always full. There are about seven parking spots there, and a few times, we have seen the overflow parked almost on the road. Today (2/2), we came upon this... More

This is a short .25 mile paved loop that introduces folks to the plants and animals they will see during their visit. Great for kids, strollers, and folks who use mobility assist devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc).

My granddaughter and I walked on this trail while visiting the park. The entire trail was blacktop and a very short walk. It's not at all strenuous. It's a nice opportunity to walk thru the dessert and see all the different types of plant life that grows here in AZ.

Just 1/4 mile with some signs telling about some of the vegetation. It was a quickly easy little trail. I enjoyed it but wouldn't want to do it again.

This is a nice walk to do if you have very limited time. It's only about half a mile, paved, and flat. It has informational signs along the path telling about the local flora and fauna. We went in the winter, but I can imagine it would be quite hot in the summer since it has no shade - though... More

Spotted this area as we were getting ready to leave the park. Thought we would stop and check it out. It was well worth the stop. It was handicap accessible, and with my wife temporarily in a wheel chair, it was a perfect spot to see a lot of the plants and cactus native to the area, and eve saw... More

Halfway through the loop drive, this trail gets you walking around Saguaro and mesquite. It's not very long, but hot. Bring water.

We haven't seen much wildlife on this trail but it is good to look at the birds and the various types of cacti and plants. It is a nice easy walk and ideal for anyone who doesn't want to walk too far in the heat. It is part way along the scenic drive.
