Excellent View, but parking may be difficult

After driving Trail Head Road, this is at the very top. It was worth the stop if you can be patient enough to find parking. There is a close up view of a smallish glacier. I over... read more

After driving Trail Head Road, this is at the very top. It was worth the stop if you can be patient enough to find parking. There is a close up view of a smallish glacier. I over heard a comment from another visitor that he had seen a herd of elk up here in the past. On the way up,... More

We saw a couple of moose last visit in October 2016! Really beautiful, the alpine views are inspiring and moving. If you can stomach the drive/ride, then make sure to stop and learn a few things. Get a patch to commemorate the journey.

This was a must see in our first trip to Colorado and Denver, and the Rocky Mountains. We had never claimed the mountains so high in a car before., It was nerve wracking but so beautiful and we were glad we did it. The building at the Visitor Center was packed, but spacious., The views are incredible and you can... More

Not the most modern of places .... but the views just can't be beat! Can be crowded but go out back and look out over the park.

Although the building is dated, the huge windows inside take advantage of the soaring scenery. Located about a 35 to 40 minute drive from Beaver Meadows Visitor Center (on a less busy day while taking your time), this is a very popular break stop. It is not only the highest visitor center in our national park system, but it also... More

A must stop on the Trail Ridge Road...not so much because of the exceptional center, but more because of the views it provides of the surrounding countryside and the trails you can access from here. Whether you are looking for a strenuous multi-mile hike or a 500 yard leg stretcher, this is the place. The classic photo op (by the... More

This is truly an unique visitor's center. However, even though it has a traditional gift shop and Park Rangers to answer questions, don't expect it to be like the others with lots of displays, activities, or movies. It basically sits at the edge of a canyon and offers a spectacular view both indoor and outdoor. Simply wonderful. Outside you can... More

The Alpine Visitor Center is a must-stop if you're driving Trail Ridge Road. Learn about the local environment and the animals that live in it (and maybe even see marmots - they can be spotted from the deck in the back), and take in some breathtaking views. There is a short trail to a stunningly scenic viewpoint (if you haven't... More

Great visitor center at the top of the drive. Nice walk to the 12,005 foot elevation. But not for the weak, nice may not be the the correct adjective; difficult because of the high altitude, but worth it if you make the trek. It took me about 15 to 20 minutes to climb to the observation point. I was the... More
