We hiked this trail for an hour hoping to see elk, after enjoying a picnic here the evening before. We enjoyed the peaceful walk only seeing one other couple, but you can see most everything from the parking lot that you see on the hike....More

This is a "road less traveled" experience. There is a parking area with a trail leading into ponderosa-studded parkland that in August sports a variety of wildflowers and birds such as Green-tailed Towhees, White-crowned Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos. There are short trails into elk pen...More

Stopped here and enjoyed an awesome quiet picnic in the cool breezy valley with a wonderful view! 10 tables, 6 with grills... Our favorite lunch was here, grilling and chilling while the kids played. Just gorgeous!
