This is a nice side trail to the Lily Lake Loop. I would definitely start the trail at the far end of the lake and not at the beginning. At the beginning there is a series of high stone steps (it is easier to go down than up). At the far end the route up is a gentle slope that... More

Lily Lake Trail (0.9 miles), a level gravel trail circles the lake, and is suitable for strollers and hikers of all ages and abilities. Lily Ridge Tail (1.1 miles), climbs above the lake and offers fine views of water and RMNP's two highest peaks, Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak. It joins with Lily Lake Trail after a while. Both trailheads... More

We walked the flat path around the lake and hiked the higher trail. I liked both but the 'steps' in the high trail were a bit much for my wife. The first ascent is steep. Also the trail isn't well marked up on top. I enjoyed both.

A very popular lake side walk. I believe there are two loop lengths to choose from. Good nearly any time of year.

We had a large range in ages with us on this hike and everyone made it. The trail around the lake is very wide and level and easy. The ridge trail is steep for awhile, but a beautiful trail. It takes you up above the lake and then loops you back onto the trail around the lake. I think it... More

The parking lot is right up against the lake so you don't have to walk far to enjoy it. There are picnic tables and places to take in the view of the lake without you needing to get on a trail. The trail looked paved and more like a stroll than a hike. Would recommend this for those that want... More

The walking path around Lily Lake was perfect for families with small children and strollers. Beautiful views and flat terrain. Best part is the close proximity to Estes and no RMNP entrance fee yet it's in the park!

Folks who live at sea level (like myself) need to acclimatize to higher levels when visiting the Rocky Mountains. Lily Lake is the perfect place to begin. The trail is mostly flat and easy to walk. I saw lots of elderly folks on this trail who seemed to have no trouble here.

We met a retired couple in rainbow curve who told us to make sure we do the lily lake trailhead and not just walk around the lake. Boy, we are so glad we listened. It's easy enough, I have an 8 year old who enjoyed some steep steps. The views are so gorgeous above the lake!!!! Something one won't be... More

My husband, kids (1 and 4), and I went here for a hike. We did the Lily Mountain Trail, which was very doable for my 4-year-old and me (18 weeks pregnant). We enjoyed beautiful views and fun ducks running around at the lake!
