Our first day in the park and we decided to drive up to Bear Lake and check it out. This was May 8 and we were shocked to see it was still frozen, but oh so beautiful! We decided to walk all the way around the lake and even with the snow it was sill a fairly easy walk.

Pleasant lake that's very popular with everyone but is particularly perfect for people with a disability as once the snows gone the path is short and easily accessible from the car park. It's not the best Lake so don't if your are able pass up on the walk to the other 3 makes as they are the Crown Jewels. If... More

I love Bear Lake. It is such a beautiful lake with towers mountains surrounding it. Birds and Chipmonks are everywhere. The parking lot really fills up quickly so get there early or park down the road where a bus picks you up. The bus is nice. There are many trails from the this location so enjoy the day. Most summer... More

I am a Parks person and I wanted to go on a hike while in Denver so what better place than the Rocky Mountain National Park? The drive up the mountain was a little scary and there were signs that said "Warning Winter Weather" however we didn't see any snow so we weren't sure what we had in store for... More

This is a must we just got back is April 23, 2017 and the lake was frozen still and snow cover the trails you need good hiking shoes or snow shoes. We were not ready for that but after driving that far we did it anyway. It was amazing there was even a snow man someone made. We did the... More

This place is stunning. We went on April 21 and the trail was almost entirely full of snow, some of which was packed down and slippery so plan accordingly. We had hiking boots and did fine. Others were coming off the trail in tennis shoes, birkenstocks, etc. I'm not sure those are the best for this. The weather was on... More

We drove up to Bear Lake and parked in the large parking lot. You could tell by the amount of cars that this was a very popular spot. People were there to hike, do some cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. The entrance was quite icy and slippery with packed snow and ice. The trail was not too very long to... More
