We visited the day before Mother's Day and encountered snow about half way up the mountain. When we neared the summit, it was snowing hard and almost a total white out. It really didn't matter that we couldn't see the beautiful vistas because we were so excited hiking the snow covered trails. We couldn't go far because of so much... More

Hurricane ridge is great view. To see the whole valley. Anyone who likes scenery must come here. Visitors center is a great area just to relax and enjoy the view. There was a lot of snow when I went, but when it's nice in the summer I bet it's wonderful. Also note the drive is not for the faint hearted.... More

Long drive up the mountain but it has great views and there are view points along the way to stop and take photos. The visitor centre has a few displays and a great short film on the history, geology and wildlife of the area. We went up in early May and there was still quite a load of snow but... More

Hurricane Ridge takes real effort to get to in my opinion. I found it worth the effort, though I nearly froze. It is a magnificent view if it is at all a clear day. (This IS Washington.) Study the map and the distance first. And be sure you are prepared for it to be cooler than you expected.

Hurricane Ridge is a spiral drive up to the ridge, watch for animals and clouds they move in crazy fast. Once up at the top they have a great gift shop and the view of Port Angeles is Great!

We visited Olympic national park in August 2016. The weather was amazing, hot and nice blue skies. There were some wildfires at the time of our visit, but it didn't affect our stay. Driving Hurricane Ridge is obligatory when visiting Olympic NP. This 17 mile drive is so beautiful, with stunning views of the mountains. We stayed in Port Angeles... More

This was awesome! So many great photos. It was very windy & cold the day we were there. You can look out across the snow-capped mountains & at this altitude, you are ABOVE the clouds!! It was a great place to visit & with the howling/cold wind...I can see why it's called the Hurricane Ridge! LOL A must see!

We came through when there were some fires in Olympic, but it was a beautiful drive regardless. This entire area is so neat and different, would definitely recommend going up Hurricane Ridge- hike also if you have the time!
