Lovely hike

This was a beautiful trail - great to do at sunset - look for the playful otters! The tidal pools were fun too!

We drove over to the coast and checked out Rialto Beach but the main reason for us staying near Forks to begin with was our desire to show our granddaughter the Second Beach at La Push, part of the local Native American reservation and within the Olympic National Park boundaries. A 3/4-mile hike through coastal forest brings you to a... More

Second beach is by far the prettiest of the beaches coming from Forks. The sea stacks and tide pools are amazing. The hike coming back up is pretty tough if you're not in good shape or if it's raining (which it probably is!) It's worth the hike though and there's plenty of parking thanks to a second lot a short... More

This beach is different than Rialto beach. It's a hike to the beach. It's about half mile. There are many steps down to the beach. It's can be challenging. The day of our visit it was raining and windy. We didn't get to see much. We will definitely come back on a better day. We saw a couple of people... More

Beach was beautiful, expansive, totally different character than Rialto. Trail was a bit challenging, but beautiful and doable by us old out of shape folks.

This 1.5 mile trail through the forests to Second Beach was awesome, but not particularly easy (I have arthritis). The day we went there were two large trees across the trail, plus there was quite a bit of climbing down to the beach and then back up. The beach itself was awesome and I am glad we took the trek.... Pleasant 10 minute walk through the forest, down nicely designed steps to reach the ocean beach. Be aware that one has to climb over huge driftwood logs to reach the beach itself and anyone with difficulties regarding balance or limited mobility of knees probably cannot make it across he driftwood to be able to walk on the beach.

It's only half a mile down to the beach, on a nice forest trail. Once you're there, another world. Go at low tide and turn right for some wonderful tide pools. Or turn left and walk a mile and a half to the distant end of the beach - few people do. Eagles, otters... and wonderful views!

We are from California and have seen many good beaches there. We had some high expectation for this beach but feel a little disappointed after parking our car in a muddy road and hiking 0.x mile to the beach. There are small islands in the sea however they are not accessible. We have to take some pictures and leave.
