Nice view from here but best stop and view is nearby at the Diablo Lake Overlook. The Ross Lake is bigger than Diablo on the map but it is hard to see it from this spot.

The Overlook to Ross Lake is much smaller than that of Diablo Lake, but the view still beautiful. It is basically a turnout with no facilities. It can be found 3.5 miles east of Diablo Lake Overlook, and is immediately after the Ross Dam Trail...More

It has a nice view but you only need to stop about 5 minutes to see it. Diablo Lake and Dam are way better to spend some time at.

Diabloo lake is the best for all activities. You would hardly get any view of Ross lake from here. Since it is on the way forward in the cascade loop one can spend 5 mins stopping by.

Served by Goodell Creek, Newhalem and Colonial Creek campgrounds along Hwy 20. Hiking trails for all ability levels - even the easier trails are scenic, but the higher you climb, the greater the visual rewards.

Stopped in one of camp grounds to have a quick picnic before our hike. The campground wasn't charging the day we went (unsure if it typically does). We pulled into a parking spot and conveniently walked to a picnic table on a pier. It worked...More

I had seen my husband's photos of Ross Lake and couldn't believe the water really was that green. So we planned a trip to this amazing place referred to as the American Alps. It is worth the drive and the water really is that color!...More
