Amazing mountain, beautiful view. Wish I knew there was lodging there. It looked so pretty and nice. Little cafe with light food. Sandwiches, soup, ice cream chips, coffee, Sosa. Beautiful views everywhere you look. When driving up the mountain you can stop at the viewing stations. So pretty and make great pictures!. Well worth it and would definately go back.... More

I LOVED hiking walking in Mt. Rainier. We started with the "dead horse creek trail" and ended up doing the the skyline/ glacier. My 5yr old loved it and she did awesome (the last mile was hard). It was cold at some part but not all the way. Got to touch snow and saw some cool creature and views! Definitely... More

Although I had hiked up to Burroughs Mountain (Second Burroughs) several times, this past week a friend and I hiked to the Fremont Lookout, side of the old fire lookout tower. The hike is not difficult, although it does ribbon along a steep slope and may not be for those extremely fearful of heights. I loved that it provided a... More

This is a great hike to get a tremendous sampling of Mount Rainier from the South Side. The Mountain is nicely lit up at sunrise and sunset. The hike itself climbs a bit at first but the levels out towards the Lookout itself. I highly recommend this one towards dusk with sunset views of the Puget Sound area, the Olympic... More

great view from the summit. Largely an open trail that I would avoid on a hot day. Did the round trip in 4 hours including half hour lunch

This is worth every minute. It's worth traveling to see. Take lots of pictures even though they don't do the beauty of the mountain justice. There's a small eatery onsite where you can purchase a quick lunch. The gift shop is nice too. There are several trails with multiple physical levels. We hiked to Frozen Lake which was a very... When you visit Sunrise the hike to the Mt. Fremont lookout is a must. It's around 3 miles, the last section traverses rocky terrain but stick with it; the views from the lookout are amazing! Bring water and a picnic lunch, you won't be disappointed. If I could do only one hike at Sunrise this would be the one.

One of my favorites and a good chance to see goats looking east from the lookout. You cannot go inside the lookout, it is reserved for park staff and has been decommissioned for fire watch

This place is like a whole other world, just completely breathe taken. And the fresh air that smells like the valley that is full of wild flowers, almost seems like a dream when you stand at the base of the mountain. Always check you radar when you are here as the weather can be rather unpredictable. We happened to make... More

We hired a car and drove from Seattle to Mt Rainier, a beautiful drive with lots of places to stop on the way, we had a lovely clear day which offered great views of the mountain. It's a lot cheaper option to hire your own car rather then a tour.
