Short easy loop trail that goes to Barker Dam. Went in the late afternoon. Saw plenty of birds, rabbits, and squirrels. Also saw a few Big Horn Sheep waiting for people to clear out to get a drink of water.

The walk out to the dam is mostly flat and an easy hike. There was no one around the entire hike, so quiet and felt like the last man on earth. Once you get to it, it does get rocky but not that difficult. Once...More

Lots of people do this loop so it's a little busy. But it is damn (pun intended) awesome. So much variety of plants and beauty!! One of my favorite spots of the trip.

As someone not familiar with desert ecosystems I was amazed at the amount of plant and animal life while on this hike. It was a nice hike for our kids as well as the dam was a focus point for them along with the pictographs...More

Joshua tree is great for people who wanna walk, but not too long and too strenuous. This little hike lets you absorb parts of the part, really enjoyable walk.

A warm and enjoyable day in April I visited Joshua Tree National Park and Barker Dam. It's a fancy piece of nature. It had rained earlier in the spring so the guard at the entrance recommended that I visit the dam when there was actually...More

Nice nature trail. Lots of interesting plants. Saw green flowers on cactus. The kids really enjoyed climbing on the boulders. Need to caution kids about snakes and cactus but a good time was had by all. Bathrooms were scarey for the kids because of the...More
