What a Rush!

Awesome trip down the mountain. Everything was fantabulous. Wish I could do that everyday. Over and over and over again. Just do it. You won't be disappointed.

Reserved this activity for our son and his friend, both 20 yrs old and avid mountain cyclists. We opted to go to the summit for sunrise as a family and then drop them off in Kukui at the bike shop for a 9 am call. My son was very pleased that the bikes were Kona mountain bikes but was told... Sunrise at the volcano followed by the bike ride. Believe the tour guides when they say it can be really cold at the summit. Although coming from a cold area it was really freezing on the day we visited.

Good staff, good bikes, good journey. The bike helmets are wet from yesterday's user. They do not dry them. My wife got a doozer of a rash across her face exactly where the helmet front face section touched her face. I assume either a reaction to a mold or a cleaning product. Choose a company with helmets without the padded... More

Our family (2 adults and 3 teenagers) enjoyed the Summit Experience ride with Haleakala Bike Company. We opted for a 9:00 am start (as opposed to the sunrise tour) and were rewarded with sunny, beautiful weather for the trip. On the drive up the mountain, our guide/bus driver ("Super" Fred) entertained us with stories and information about the volcano and... More

We did the sunrise bike tour 12/31/16 with our family of 4. The day before was pouring rain and rain was forecast so we called to ask if we could cancel or reschedule. BikeMaui’s policy turns out is "rain or shine" so no cancellations or re-scheduling (makes sense for them, not so much for us). As such, here's our "rain"... More

My boyfriend and I just came back from Maui. I had heard about Haelakala Bike company thru a video on utube and this company lived up to the great reviews it was given. Fred, our tour guide was very friendly, extremely knowledge about the area, the crater and even the plants that grow on it. We had such beautiful weather... More

We had a wonderful guide, Fred! He was so informative, helpful and awesome! I highly recommend this company for a ride down Haleakala. We did the Summit Experience in which we met at the bike shop at 9am rather than the sunrise experience that is way too early for us. We did it many years ago and while nice, we... More

Just completed a lifelong quest to ride a bicycle down Mt. Haleakala. So glad I chose Haleakala Bike Company to work with. They are very organized with top notch equipment from helmets and rain gear, to bicycles. The bus drive up the mountain was curvy so I'm glad I'd taken motion sickness medication. Our driver kept us entertained with lots... More

Weren't really sure what to expect with this excursion, but it was incredible! The worst part was the van ride up the mountain, but they let you hang out at the crater for a little bit at the top, and the views are incredible. We went in late April, and the weather was perfect. A little moist, but they provided... More
