Watch the weather . . . . If there has been a lot of rain in the mountains, than definitely plan on going. There were no waterfalls running when we went, which made the hike less climactic. If you are going to the Pipiwai Trail,...More

My husband and I specifically went to Hana for this. Granted, it took us about 3 hours to get here from Kaanapali leaving at 5:45AM, it was definitely a road trip of a lifetime. Getting to Hana was a bit long but the views are...More

We drove the south Maui route around to Hana and the full circle. Don't believe the reviews about the road being bad, it was easy granted we had good weather. The Ohe'o Gulch was nice, the pools were fun. A little hiking, some cliff jumping...More

A must see. Pictures just don't do it justice. A beautiful gulch leading to the ocean. It can be quite a hike so be sure to take water.

Not for the faint of heart or out of shape. Hike is a gradual incline, over mostly wet soil (mud) and tree roots and rocks. Wear mosquito repellant and bring a light poncho in case of rain. Bring your camera! The hike is through jungle...More

The pools were open and there were a lot of people swimming in them. Being the more adventureous one I took the kids (7 and 10) to go swimming in the water- they were too scared to swim all the way up to the falls...More

These are the seven sacred pools in the Kipahula area about 10 miles beyond Hana. These gorgeous cascading pools are lovely to look at but you can't swim in them, so don't bother going down if you want to save some time, you can see...More

We continued from Hana, driving about 15 minutes to the Ohe'o Gulch inside the Haleakala National Park. It costs $10/ car for entry but the ticket is good for three days. We arrived around 4 PM, and fearing we would be driving back in the...More
