This area of the park is gorgeous. Very nice to hear the water and the birds. Lots of pic opportunities.

A good place to get away from the crowds. The road is unpaved but was in good condition when we were there. We saw a few fly fishermen along the way, but not much traffic at all.

Drive straight over to Cades Cove and stay in the traffic there - and if you do come here, don't tell anyone about it. This is a lovely area with all the great things that others have already listed. You could mine this area for weeks for photo ops, swimming holes, and a few nice waterfalls outside of the innumerable... More

We have hiked in this area many times, Many different easy, uncrowded trails and great places to eat along side mountain trails. Also a great place to see wildlife, snakes, bear, deer, etc.

A great side trip that can get you away from the crowds, although it is now getting more known and talked about. A leisurely drive along the river, a few pulloffs so you can get out and explore, and if you like, you can visit the small Visitor Center that is just before a bridge that leads to hiking trails.... None of us are accomplished hikers and we had no difficulty navigating the trail, however I would not go back with a young child again. Much of the trail is quite narrow and a... More

Awesome trails with waterfalls, not on the top of anyone's list. Went on Saturday afternoon and practically had the place go ourselves.
