1.3 miles from the car parking area, so not so far. Easy forest path, going by rivers, and rhodedendron-lined pathways. The challenging part is the steep descent (and ascent back up!) to the Falls itself. We were there at a time when the river was in full flow, so got the impressive sight of the Falls crashing down.

This was a fairly easy 1.2 mile hike on the roughly paved path. As you get about halfway there, the trail has a steep and unprotected drop-off on one side, so be mindful, especially with kids. The waterfall was nice at the top, but not spectacular. Popular falls to visit as the hike is doable for those not wanting to... More

This is an uphill hike to the falls, but our daughter had no problems completing the trail. The views are awesome as you are winding your way up the trail, and the falls are beautiful. Maybe not safe for very small children, as there are steep drop offs. Pick up the info brochure at the beginninf and follow along the... More

We have hiked to the falls multiple times. We usually take guests with us that have not been in the park before. It is nice that it is paved. At times there are quite a few people along the trail and at the falls. On our last visit we walked about a half mile past the falls to get some... More

We hiked to Laurel Falls on Christmas Day. Everyone was so friendly saying Merry Christmas as we walked by them. We enjoyed the hike! Beautiful views to look at as you hike. The waterfall is gorgeous and worth the hike. Parking is tricky. We drove by once and not a single spot was left. We turned around and drove back... More

This is one of the few paved hikes in the smokies. It is a 1.2 mile hike each way (not 2.5 miles each way as someone else falsely claimed.) It has an incline on the way up but nothing extreme. There are a few "drop off here and there but nothing "life threatening" as some one else falsely claimed. A... More

I sure wish I was in better shape because this 2.5 mile hike each way was killer. The falls were beautiful and worth it but the hike was painful. :)

This hike seemed long, as I was "dragging" my 5 yr old, but it had some great views out over the mountains to stop and look at. The path is narrow, but not heartstoppingly, at times with no rails, so children must be watched at most times.the falls were worth the hike even though they were currently half the size... More

We hiked this with young children and the walk is definitely worth the gorgeous falls at the end! Highly recommend!
