While driving to West Yellowstone from Salt City, we drove through Targhee National Forest. Beautiful park in this area. Driving along the national forest was beautiful. It could be good for camping, hike and fishing. It is open area and can get cold. Lake Jenny is close by but we did not go there.

The forest is beautiful. We live about an hour from here, so it is a nice little retreat into the woods, without being totally in the middle of nowhere. It gets cold at night in the fall, but it wasn't bad. There are lots of places to hike, fish, mountain bike and more.

While leaving West Yellowstone we were able to do some driving through Targhee National Forest. It's another beautiful park in this area and not to be missed if you have the time! I do wish we had more time to stop and hike but driving along the national forest was beautiful.

Like the surrounding area, the section that is the Targhee National Forest is also really beautiful. A lot of great pullouts, some trailheads, and camping. The Snake River comes through here and it's truly stunning.

We passed thru the National Forest going from Yellowstone to Jackson Hole. Its a nice peaceful place to drive and to stop. There are a few small villages along the road which looked good too.

We visited the area adjoins the Tetons and loved the stunning beauty and peace of the forest. Probably an underrated area

Unlike in Grand Teton National Park and the Jedediah Smith Wilderness area, more activities can be done on usda land like this including mountain biking, paragliding, traveling with a dog on trail and with much more relaxed camping rules. This multiple use is by design and is delightful. I include summer photos but at this time of the year it... More

Targhee National Forest, is one of the beautiful scenic road. If you are a photographer and you like to take a shot of nature, you will like it here! Its a short scenic road but absolutely stunning. If you are not in the rush, its worth the detour.

On our way from Pocatello to Jackson Hole, we drove through the Targhee National Forest area. Its a beautiful area. Due to the fires in the Northwest while we were in the area, there was some smoke in the air. It was still a scenic area to see and on a clear day, I am sure all the better. The... More
