In addition to the grand views (but not the best according to us) , this terminal point of the Red route on the West Rim has toilets, drinking water and a snack bar+ souvenir shop. Apparently a good place for viewing sunsets. Also the starting point for Hermit Trailhead.

It is architecturally very interesting. Many people were there enjoying their hot chocolate or other beverages. It can be reached by bus or you can walk to this spot.

The last stop on the Red Shuttle bus has brilliant views of the canyon along with a gift shop, bathrooms and a snack bar. It's also the start of the Hermit Trailhead.

Wonderful way to spend seeing the sunset. Took the Sunset Tour Bus with a delightful guide named Terry. The highlight was seeing ancient fossils at the stop.

Another great place for a panorama photo of the canyon. Restrooms, snack shop, and a gift shop are also available. Hermit's Rest is the last stop on the free shuttle bus. We walked from Hermit's Rest to Pima and picked up the bus back to the village. It was an easy pleasant walk with fantastic views.

This is the place where buses turn around, or if you have biked or walked here, you must turn back. There are restrooms and a snack bar.

Doing the bus tour was a highlight of our time at the South Rim! Hermit's Rest had such an interesting story which our tour guide/bus driver shared with us. Good views along the way!

Just finished a great Hermit's Rest tour at the Grand Canyon. Our guide--Mark--was very informative about the Canyon and willing to answer all of our questions. Mark also was very nice to everyone on the tour and did a superb job of engaging the children onboard in a way that allowed the kids to stay happy and learn along with... More

We visited GCNP last weekend by rail (Grand Canyon Railway from Williams, it was a lot of fun) and we had about 4 hours in the park. We've visited before and even camped there, so the 4 hours on this trip was just enough time to take the red shuttle out to Hermit's Rest. The shuttles were pretty full, so... More
