You can take the free shuttle all the way out - it's about 7 miles. The red shuttle stops 7 times on the way out and people can get on and off at different points along the way. We stopped at the second to last...More

Both my wife and I visited Hermit's Rest in the late 60s and early 70s (we didn't know each other at the time). Little has changed and Hermit's Rest, which I believe was one of the first overviews in the park, is the last stop...More

Fast service with a variety of quick snacks just right for coming off the trailhead. Because the location is distant from the main GC complex, changing large bills may be a challenge near the end of the day.

We hiked here from the visitor center. The views were fabulous! They have a pretty cool gift shop and a little place to get snacks and sandwiches. The fireplace was awesome.

This is the end of the red bus ride but worth the time. You can see a different part of the canyon from here compared with further round the rim. The facilities are limited here so don't arrive too hungry or thirsty.

Hermit's Rest doesn't have the best Canyon views, however it does have a snack bar and gift shop. It is also one of the few stops on the red route with restrooms.
