The shuttle buses only make 3 stops on the return trip from Hermit's Rest, so if you don't stop at the Abyss on the way out, you can take the return bus to Mohave, then go back up to The Abyss. It's just over a...More

I liked the views deep into the canyon from here which just seem to go on forever. We stayed for quite a while just taking it all in

If you have been getting off the bus at every stop so far and are starting to get tired or desperately need to find a bathroom, this is one you can skip. The views are more enclosed and less expansive.

There are great views from this location, however based on the name I was expecting a deeper section. Nevertheless it is a beautiful view.

The Abyss is a good place to see how far down the Grand Canyon extends below. The views are awesome also. Not as many different views as Moran Point or Mariposa Point.

Not sure why we got off the shuttle to see this place. Not worth if you running short of time. Can see the Colorado river from here.

Our stay here was short. There are better choices. You take the red shuttle to get here. The draw is the shear drop which does little for me.
