Very nice drive

Scenic, winds down through the forest to the desert. Awesome viewing areas ... we stopped everywhere. It was recommended in the park literature, and didn't disappoint.

We didn't do this last time, much less people and fantastic views looking over the west. Well worth seeing.

Be sure to go up the watchtower. The view is great. There is a gift shop and cafe here also. Short walk to attraction.

Decided to make our way to the South Rim by way of the East Rim drive. We followed along the Rim to have the opportunity to stop at vantage points to view the Little Colorado River and the canyon gorge. Most visitors drive directly to the South Rim, where it is well worth the extra time to drive in from... More

The drive is essentially along the rim and there are a number of points to stop and watch the Canyon.Like all the Canyon it is a great drive.

We entered the park by the east entrance and drove this road to Grand Canyon Village to set up our tents. We explored it again later in the week. There are multiple lookouts and pullouts in the twenty plus miles. The Watchtower is worthy as is Shoshone Point. It is a reservable area but you can explore it if it... More

We saw both a sunrise and sunset from here and even though it was quite cloudy both times it was still stunning. I could have happily stayed here all day looking out over the Canyon - the colours and stripes of the rock are beautiful - have lots of space on your camera because you will take lots and lots... This is a great way to start or end your day as the colors shift rapidly with the rising/setting sun. And don't feel guilty/cheap for driving and just stopping at the lookout points to take photos. You'll have plenty of opportunity to walk during the daylight.

An early morning drive will refresh you along this scenic route. We stopped at many of the look out points while enjoying the sunrise. Dress in layers and bring your coffee & tea. The roads are in great condition. We drove on the road twice, once before dawn and then on our way to Antelope Canyon. Don't over plan, enjoy... More
