I tackled it in flip-flops and shorts on a very brisk morning, but the exercise kept me warm enough. There are a lot of sloped areas of the trail, so it's necessary to take the uphills slowly if you're new to the altitude. There are...More

Went here during the day and at sunset....it changes according to where the sun is in the sky. I could have sat here all day watching the walls of the canyon changing color as the sun and shadows moved.

You get a good view here of the trail that leads through the canyon. There were many people that were hiking the trail when we were there.

This place is 10 miles up on the south rim from Yavapai. It is protected now (currently a gift shop) but its lovely to see the how life used to be.

This is a short hike from the Lodge or parking area, but the views are striking, there you are at the end of the rock outcropping looking into the canyon. the walk way was mostly paved.

The colors are different, the views are different from the south rim, but no less spectacular. If you go with children, however, be warned that there are steep dropoffs with no walls, even at the head of the Bright Angel Point trail.

This point is an easy hike to a beautiful overlook. Although it is a major photo-opp, photography cannot capture the feel or even the beauty of nature. Not to be missed.

Paved path that is uneven with a decline on the way out to the point leads to a fenced view point of the Grand Canyon and several of its arms. A must at the North Rim, but not easy.

Easy hike at the North Rim, less than a mile round trip from the North Rim Lodge round. Fantastic views.

Absolutely yes. Have done it often. Use 89 one way and 89a the other. Should allow you 3 hrs of time on the rim. Might snack at lodge at Bright Angel, get view and food to save time.
