Each view was great. The location was crowded and noisy. Parking can be a real issue. Enjoy the rim trail, but we preferred less manmade stuff.

On our second trip to the Canyon, we arrived at the railroad station. A log cabin style building transferred to the current site.. Beautifull Building. When going through the Hopi Gallery, be aware the doorways are 5 feet 6 inches high. No head banging allowed....More

It's basically a parking lot, but it did the job. The full hook ups were a definite must during the summer when it was hot and the only way to cool down was through AC. There were some spots with shady trees, and I suggest...More

Everything was within walking distance. Some areas a little spread out but really enjoyed the walks. Well-lit, paved paths for bikes/walking made it easy to get around. Felt very safe.

There is a TON of history here. This is the modern day hub for the South Rim. The small village contains the railhead, the Bright Angel Trailhead, the mule corral, lots of lodging (still not enough to house all the visitors however), souvenir shopping, and...More

There were lots of people with dogs on leashes when we were there so I'd say the answer is yes. Make sure you have a really good leash because there are a lot of places with no guard rails.

Shuttle will work, but you can get great views from El Tovar area + food + shopping. If you have a limited amount of time, I would do this first - then see if you want to explore and have time for other areas.
